I preemptively called in sick tomorrow.

Might have extended that to include Friday, just in case it drops then (which I hope it will if not tomorrow).

PC: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | MSI Suprim GeForce 3090 TI | ASUS Prime X570-P | 128GB DDR4 3600 RAM | 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Win10 Pro 64bit

It would be cool if it came this week, but IIRC they said they would announce the release date this week so I would get too excited. I'm gonna guess next week but I'll be happy if I'm wrong and its sooner. I'm also hoping that the month long delay on updates means that the tomcat harrier and mirage get some considerable improvements as well.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

Right, ED could announce the release date today for a tomorrow or Friday release - not too far fetched, imho. :D

Edit: ... and I am only saying this since Wags dropped the Viper cold-start video yesterday - which, according to him, would be the last academic video before the release.

I thought this as well but Wags last post in the Viper Mini-Updates shows they had stroke of luck and that there are still a few vids left for them to do.

Per Wags:

This video is recorded from the included startup interactive training lesson.

We got the startup procedure done earlier than we expected (a few small items to still tune), so we have a few more videos to do prior to release.

We plan to release the Early Access version sometime in early Autumn 2019 (Autumn 2019 starts on 23 September).

I would think they would do a single patch release on Friday. If I remember right the patch date got moved around for the 14 as well, but can't be sure

Hmm....interesting. Notice how the “No, not this week” part was removed from the title by the mods

I noticed also. Could it be...

Dear Pilots!

We are pleased to announce that DCS: F-16C Viper will be released on our e-Shop and Steam on 03 October 2019! Please note that the pre-order discount from our e-Shop will end then.

DCS World e-Shop:

Steam:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1...CS_F16C_Viper/

We have also been reaching out to Steam through multiple channels to extend the pre-order period, but we have been unsuccessful. We will keep trying.

We are very excited to make this work of art available to you, and we thank you for your encouragement and support. We could not do this without you.

Sincerely,

Congrats! I turned 68 last month and am glad to see I am not the only old guy excited by this. I use the warthog TM HOTAS these days, but found my old Cougar rig from the Falcon 4.0 days. Will at least try the throttle with the USB adaptor.

So, can we expect an update to OB tomorrow, and then download the Viper the next day, or will everything happen on Thursday??

+1 I asked about this also, but I guess we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out, I hope we get the regular update tomorrow...

This is going to make confusing for some people. Remember when the time when Hornet released ?

Should the update installed first or you install the Viper first then the update. I hope ED could make that process clear enough. I don't want to mess up my DCS installation.

I don't think it will corrupt anything, but either way you should update the game first, then install Viper.
