Since the carrier is way to lifeless apart from some quickmissions i decided to make a carrier setup for the DCE Hornet over PG campaign to make it more realistic for carrier ops. It also looks much more sexy.. Anyone else wanna share there carrier setup?

That's excellent. Is such a setup downloadable (i.e. mission template) or can you provide instructions on how to recreate it.

I created it for the Hornet over PG DCE dynamic campaign v5. You can download that but it needs the persian gulf map. There is a default carrier setup without deck crew and one with deck crew if you want deck crew included you need to download the us Navy deck crew mod. You could also create one yourself with static objects. Its really not this hard but i could create a template for the caucasus map as well if there are enough people want it.

 

but the cool thing with the DCE is that it creates the carrier setup for every campaign mission automaticly.

Looks awesome. Allthough personally i avoid putting static objects to far near the catapults & front Right elevators as it Will mess with the AI aircraft

when i put some hornets on the carrier, my fps is killed.

i like your setups though

I used to decorate, but the sixpack is used by the AI for Taxi, the cat's are used for spawns and AI, all the elevators are used by spawn points, and the places at the back right near ramp are used for landing AI to park.

 

 

So I gave up!

Just a Single Player setup. In other words like Pikey said: It's a pain to get some AI operations going on without bugging the whole deck. But on the other hand...the crowded deck looks so darn sexy:worthy:

Yeah definitely, no AIs apart from the departing E2, Viking and Helo...This was just to make my Case 1 practice look more interesting and to force more line-up precision on landing :joystick:

How that? I've seen that on videos already, but I never managed to get a spawn on elevators, it's always stuck to the 4 default positions and cats. Too bad noone cared to explain yet, must be kind of a business secret that's highly classified.

Do not use the Lot 20 F/A-18 for static... use the other F/A-18 static object. I don't have my computer in front of me right now, but IIRC there are two. - "F/A-18 Lot 20" and "F/A-18" or something to that effect. Using the latter helps FPS a LOOOOT and you really don't loose much as you'd have to be right up on them to see the difference.

This! We need more freedom to choose where to spawn on the deck. I really dislike spawning in the middle. I understand the reasoning, but to have it ALWAYS use a logic is very limiting. Also, I agree with disabling cats to prevent AI incursion for extra parking.

I managed to figure out how to spawn on an elevator. Well, at least 3 of them.

Cant find the Deck Crew Mod anymore ... does anyone know of a mirror to get it?

 

Also, I try to put static helos on deck and even tough the Mission Editor allows it, they dont show on the sim :(

What I don’t understand is we can freely add as much static models basically anywhere in the map. But not when spawning as a player.

Are you linking them to the Stennis and checking "OFFSET FIXATION"?
