Stuttering due to USB device?

Recommended Posts

Anybody having a clue why i get these lines in the dcs.log?

And when I get them, the game stutters heavily, hangs actually.

Also on simple missions without any overhead!

I had my GPU and 2 x Sound HDaudio on old IRQ, cant say it got better, I had not really any issues with USB or so. But it may help greasing it ;)

Delete/reinstall usb drivers, also maybe just unplug and plug everything back in. Flight simming has caused me to have powered USB hubs, one with 4 inputs and another with 7 and sometimes they get a little confused if I bump one and all devices try to connect at once.

I did exactly thd opposite and eliminated 2 hubs i had used, 1 x monitor hub asus and 1 x internal nzxt hub , both were not sober over time. I use al usb the board has and wont add the hubs again. There are 15 mb driven ports and 2 more via 3.1gen2 if i ever find the correct adapter for 2 external slot ports.

Usb is a nightmare sometimes.

also consider how many devices you are plugging into the same usb “controller”.

you may have a lot of physical ports available, but the controller can be overloaded. this can cause performance issues.

if you have a lot of devices, or few high bandwidth devices (VR sensors for example), you should be plugging them into a usb card with its own controller.

Some onboard USB controllers are directly connected to the CPU, some USB controllers are connected to the PCH. Any Add-In card will be connected through the PCH.

The problem is finding the sweetspot for all those devices across the combination of USB 2/3/3.1gen1/3.1gen2 Ports.

USB is a big Clusterf&&$ck !
