After taking a couple of months break I am now back at coding and working on something bigger and more ambitious. But it is still too early for details, let's first see if things work as planned :)

Oh man, that sounds awesome. Looking forward to it! Maybe you can do it as an official third party campaign (if it is a campaign), because your work really deserves to get paid for!

Anyways, I'm excited!

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

I have this strange (maybe is normal) behavior when saving the mission with some modifications (enforcing some settings for F2 views and F10 map, skins, R3Rs on 1-2 pylons, bort numbers) in 1.5 it gets corrupted and can't be played (game crashes). The file saved is a lot shorter and sometimes just few tens of kb.

I had to do the modifications in 1.2 so it worked in 1.5 then.

And here I just finished my first successful multi-aircraft engagement and was hoping there was some log that got generated too.

I think I can take the information from MDC_campaign_results.lua from the camp (for date and time) and weather sections though, right?

I'd like to edit the lua scripts to have the next mission's time and weather on the top of the debriefing screen, because that's what I care most about for the next run.

However I don't know how to edit them and I can't see them in the mission editor. I'm quite new to this, can one of you guys tell me where I can find the lua files?

You can open the mission file (.miz) like a zip file and extract/re-import the lua files which hold the code.

Hi all!

I'm new to Mig-21 and wanted to fly this campaign. I tried first mission a couple of times and everything about the campaign worked ok (unfortunatly the same can't be said about my skills) but now, without any aparent reason I don't get any friendly AIs with me.

My 'MissionScripting.lua' is edited as instructions and I don't have any 'MDC_campaign_results.lua' because I never ended first mission.

Already redownloaded the campaign and resaved on mission editor as well.

I'm playing it single player on DCS World openbeta. Is there any hidden file that could be doing this? I don't know what else to do.

Thanks.

There is something I don't understand. This dynamic campaign is one year old... but the mig-21bis by leatherneck simulation is still in a beta stage.

The plane already existed one year ago, end of 2014? Or there was a mig 21bis at this time, replaced by the new one now?

Thanks

hum, i'm playing this campaign right now, and it's great, however the weather does not appear to be working.

even when it says in the briefing that it is currently rainy, the weather seems perfectly sunny and the clouds always seem at about the same height, likewise it says that the weather will change soon in the briefing but it never does.

is this a known issue? have i installed it wrong?

Did you edit it according to the first post?

- When viewing the debriefing of the present mission, note the time and weather of the next mission at the bottom. Since this properties cannot be adjusted in missions automatically, they require manual modification by the player. Open the campaign mission file in the DCS Mission Editor and adjust the time of day and the weather as instructed by the last debriefing. It is suggested that you perform this modifications in a copy of the original mission file for your presently running campaign, though there is no technical reason that makes this mandatory.

Hello, is this campaign working in 1.5 currently? I only need to download this and follow the instructions of the first post, or Do I need to do something else to make it work correctly?

if you are running win7+ and the file is in your program files(?) folder it will sometimes be an idiot about modifying files. try (temporarily?) disabling user account control, making sure you are signed in as an admin and/or try removing it to your desktop, modifying it and then re-pasting it back into whatever directory it was moved from.

to be more specific i'd need to know the actual error you're getting, though.

Ok, thanks

Someone tried to change this to Mig-15bis operations?

I want to become proficient in Mig-15 before learn how to fly Mig-21.

We dont have any campaign to Mig-15, maybe this is the solution.

Im having a lot of problems editing the .lua file and figuring a lot of this out. Yet this campaign is everything I could want and dream of in a flight sim. Id love some help Im running DCS 1.5 and if someone could help me figure out how to edit the .lua files and exlain or walk me through what Im supposed to do it'd really help and be appreciated?

Regardless kudos to the designer to doing what ED should have done. Absolutely brilliant from what Ive heard. My father flew F4Ds in Vietnam and later in Spain in the late 70s - good chance he would have been one of those NATO F4s escorting B52s (well actually no - his job would have been a low level tac nuke strike - but he was in Torrejone Spain in 79. Id love a Coldwar Gone hot in 1980 scenario) so if anyone can help please do.

Since the update messed with the (de)briefings is it possible to somehow extract them from .lua to plain text?

Not without writing some custom script to process it. Anyhow, all the information is in the MDC_campaign_results.lua file in you DCS World main folder and you should be able to identify most of it in the table.

Fortunately all those hassles will be gone with my new DC system (not for this campaign, but for new, better ones).
