F/A-18C Paint Schemes Wishlist / Requests Thread

I see my old squadron didn't make the cut. VFA-146, along with VMFA-323 was one of the two F/A-18C squadrons in CVW-9/CVW-14/CVW-11 while I was there.

Not one of my photos but a good top view of DIMON 300 right after we had to replace door 18... the first diamond is missing on the spine.

Here's a shot with all of the diamonds present. Again not one of my photos.

Then there was the Marine Aviation Centennial bird transferred to our squadron from VFA-122 for our 2013 cruise. I got a lot of photos of this one before it was repainted in TPS and squadron colors.

Also, There was this jet we called Magnum which was transferred in from NSAWC and we repainted with the "Blood Diamonds" and gave a 357 MODEX. Again not my pics.

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

True, but with all the upgrades, they are more C's now than A's. (At least from what I hear up here in Canada, no clue on Australia's)

(I'm not positive of all the CF-18 specs so don't take me as I'm certain)

The RAAF Hornets are closer to the C model than the A model but technically they still are the A therefore understand why they aren't being included. Once the paint kit comes out I'm sure people will pump out skins for all operators of the classic Hornet.

Spanish Hornets "EF-18" (Came off production line in A+ state)

Sorry I don't know the wings....but to my untrained eye they all look near the same :)

Thats our Spanish tigers of 15th wing and our 12th wing called "gatos", also we have 46th wing based on Canary Islands.

These are just some rough ideas, not sure if any of the hornets photographed are F/A-18A's instead of C's but you get the point:D

I think a "must" skin for the F/A-18C is this (Jolly Rogers)

What do you think guys?

The same goes and for the F-14 (when it is released)

Oh c'mon Wags....you HAVE to include an RAAF F/A-18C skin surely. We operate 54 A's, 15 B's and 24 F's. So whilst its not the C models, surely this should put us in the running!! :)

If ED has enough energy drinks and other resources I'd love to see skins for all current Legacy Hornet operators. Considering all the upgrades that have gone into As/Bs I don't think it is too much of a stretch...As opposed to making a C skin based on an F squadron...*cough* :)

I have faith that the community will pickup the wishlist and make all the Legacy skins if required tho'.

This is precisely why they should (and most likely will) focus their efforts elsewhere. It saves them time and money, and we get a Hornet sooner rather than later.

Canadian Hornets "CF-18" (Near identical to A models)

Once again I know near nothing about the RCAF...sorry Canadians. Do you Canadians just repaint the demo jet every year I assume, because wow that is a beautiful hornet!

There are couple of Finnish Hornets that have special paint jobs:

HN-424 with a lynx on the nose:

365999.jpg

HN-431 with a lynx on the stabilizer:

8631896541_f058a65667_b.jpg

And then there's "Kreivi von Rosen":

720498.jpg

Lynx (looks more like a doberman to me) on HN-424 is emblem of the WW2 era fighter squadron 24 while lynx on the HN-431 is emblem of the fighter squadron 31 (fighter squadron 24 was renamed to fighter squadron 31 after the war).

In addition to these 3 there are 2 more birds with squadron markings.

HN-411 with fighter squadron 11 emblem on the nose:

2691960.jpg?v=v40

HN-421 with fighter squadron 21 emblem on the stabilizer:

1574373.jpg?v=v40

I'm not 100% sure but i think these 5 planes are only Hornets with some special markings on FiAF.

No planned CF-18 Skins?

Royal Malaysian Air Force skins would be cool... Semi fictional as they fly the D model but the Dark grey is soooooo Cool!

They used to be Gunship Grey but recently they toned down the greys after the upgrade to match the Su-30MKMs.

FYI the easiest and quickest way to tell it's a Super Hornet when you can't see the intakes and pylons is if it has the "pizza box" IFF antenna on the nose.

Thanks I never honestly bothered to look at the difference, the pizza box helps a lot
