We need to have a chat about memory...

Imho, one should check thre PageFile settings, over 30GB swap is way off imho.

Default setup for swap under Windows is to set the swap size equal to RAM size... which is clearly disk space wasting.

I recommands to always set the swap size manually to only 1Go as fixed size, or maybe 2Go MAXIMUM. This is theoritically largely sufficient, since swap should not be considered as a standard memory management, but as rescue memory management: You need swap ONLY if your RAM is full.

Setting swap to fixed size of 1Go, let you know quickly when your system is out of memory, since Windows will warns you about. Otherwise, Windows will simply fill up the swap, and becomes slow.

RE: Page files..... I used to keep a fixed size as well so Windows wasn't constantly changing it. After I upgraded to 32 Gig RAM I set the page file to zero. When I'm running beta 2.5 my memory utilized is usually in the 12-14 Gig range during flight. I don't believe I've seen it go over 16 Gig at this point.

Are any of you guys also encountering RAM issues in single player or is it purely multiplayer? I have 16GB and my system is slowing to a crawl no matter what.

I had RAM issues only in MP with my former 16GB..

SP no issues - ever since..

any stutters after the RAM update? Im on the fence about getting more ram. I have 16gb ddr3 1600. almost same specs as you.

atm no stutters at all - everything fine in MP.. ( out of 8 MP sessions, I once had a 10 seconds game freeze in Caucasus terrain though, but thats it)

as stated earlier here, RAM usage in my DCS 2.5 MP sessions reached up to 21 GB max so far..

Single player I'm fine and total memory levels off at 6 (of 12 total). Multi-player, before my plane even finishes loading on a server it hits 8 and my system goes nope, last 4 is reserved for me and crashes to desktop or the whole pc depending on its mood.
