Any update plans of WWII Assets?

gomwolf

Recommended Posts

Me and my friends made few missions which using WWII Assets. We made it more than a year ago, but still we can't play this mission, cuz we can't play WWII ground units. Recently we noticed we can play some tanks on WWII Assets, but it's turret didn't works.

I couldn't see any update log about WWII Assets for a while, so I'd like to get some information on how much progress the work has made and when it will be updated.

If any info you have please let me know about it.

We were supposed to have a summer update, but its drifted somewhat. They are fixing and adding in better CA support, I know things like the Tigers turret and chassis MGs are working both AI and player, internally at least, more historic sites, etc.

Looks like EDs focus is on pumping out NATO jets. WW2 seems to be all but abandoned.

I may be one to regularly breathe down EDs neck regards WW2 content, however Snapage I think that's a bit passed the mark given what we are expecting from ED and what they are also currently working on:

Fully Flyable Modules

  • Mosquito FB.VI
  • P-47D Thunderbolt
  • Me 262 Schwalbe

AI Aircraft

  • Ju 88A
  • A-20G
  • C-47A
  • Typhoon Mk.Ib
  • Bf 109G-6
  • B-24 Liberator
  • B-25 Mitchell
  • B-26 Marauder
  • Lancaster B.1

Ground/Sea Assets

  • M10 GMC
  • Centaur IV
  • Elefant
  • E-boat Schnellboot type S-130
  • Type VIIC German U-boat
  • Barrage Ballon
  • Search Light

Systems

  • WW2 Aircraft Damage Modelling Update

If that warrants the status as "abandoned" to you, I think you've been over-indulged as a child.

And yes, whilst it is taking a bloody long time - and my frustrations are as intense as anyone's I assure you - and there is yet much more we are still waiting on/hoping for, e.g. the user placeable airfields, period radars, further period ships, fuel bowsers, mobile AAA and towed artillery, that list is by no means small and when taken with everything else being developed (F-16, Mi-24, F-4 plus SA-5, Scud and the New Maps) I am quite prepared to cut ED some slack.

We have different teams working on WW2.

We have lots of work in progress for WW2 so it is far from abandoned.

All it takes is time and hard work.

I was trying to point out announced ED only a/c not hypothetical.

AI Aircraft

[*]B-26 Invader

I would assume that it is in fact the Martin B-26 Marauder - the Douglas built Invader was assigned the A-26 designation during the WW2 period. The Douglas a/c was only ever referred to as B-26 after 1947.

Given the Asset Pack was Normandy centric on initial announcement and the B-26 was announced then, and that the A-26 was not introduced to the ETO till Nov/Dec 1944, the Martin a/c would be a more logical assumption.

[*]Heinkel 111 Bomber

Where is the evidence for this; haven't seen any references to this a/c and WW2 Asset Pack.

[*]others WW2 Air AI Units

Again, I was trying to point out actual announced ED only a/c not hypothetical.

It is never clear to me if these planes were going to be free for those of us who bought early access.

Fully Flyable Modules

P-47D Thunderbolt

Mosquito FB.VI

Me 262 Schwalbe

Future WW2 modules

Nunca me quedo en claro si estos aviones iban a ser gratis para los que compramos el acceso anticipado.

Early access to the asset pack gets you the modules as AI assets for free. If you want to fly them, you need to buy the aircraft modules just like the P-51, Spitfire, FW-190 and Bf-109.

Hypotenical? ED has claim they can continue build pilotable modules after Me262. Remember Fw-190 A-8 and Mosquito never was planned on the KS.

I would assume that it is in fact the Martin B-26 Marauder - the Douglas built Invader was assigned the A-26 designation during the WW2 period. The Douglas a/c was only ever referred to as B-26 after 1947.

A-26 Invader, B-26 Marauder and expected more incoming.

Given the Asset Pack was Normandy centric on initial announcement and the B-26 was announced then, and that the A-26 was not introduced to the ETO till Nov/Dec 1944, the Martin a/c would be a more logical assumption.

The asset pack has not only centred on normandy, that has centred on all WW2.

The DCS: World War II Assets Pack provides numerous World War II air, land and sea assets to populate the Normandy and other DCS World maps with. Eagle Dynamics has spent several years creating an entirely new set of combat vehicles to support DCS: World War II, and each unit is created with an exceptional level of detail and accuracy.

Two WW2 maps has incoming and a third WW2/Modern free map.

Where is the evidence for this; haven't seen any references to this a/c and WW2 Asset Pack.

On old post on the russian forum.
