I am not so sure if that PSU is holding what it says. It's far to cheap with around 100US$ to be of good quality. Usually, they range anywhere from 200-350€ for 1200w.

Let's see what Demon says.

The rest looks GREAT

The Rosewill Tachyon (Tier 3) is warranted for 5 years. Get something better. Maybe a 850-1000w.

Garbage PSU= 3 year warranty

Cheap PSU= 5 year

Good and very good PSU= 7-10 year

Hulk= 12+ year

what would be the downside of just using it if he's got it? so long as it doesn't overvoltage his components then any failure shouldn't destroy anything else.

I'd suggest using it until it blows up after 3 years then get a new one.. but I've never had a PSU failure so I'm not too informed on these things.

Good question

High ripple currents can damage the graphic card and the motherboard pci-e slot over time. Ripple currents wear out capacitors throughout a system by causing them to self heat. This is why of the warranty of only 5 years, for a platinum PSU... They just have a higher risk of failure.

Already replaced it with a new order.

Ordered an EVGA Super Nova 1000w. 80+ gold. 5 stars, good reviews and a 10 yr warranty. Hope it passes the muster or I'm going to have to punt.

Thanks for the heads up. Rather get it right the first time!

See ya in the skies!

  • 2 weeks later...

Well pushed the power button and viola!!! We have a brand new pc.

Will spend rest of the evening updating bios, and drivers and such.

Wow, been years since I put one of these together. Sans the huge video card, amazingly clean and tidy.

Cant wait to strap on the headset.

Question. I have wireless mouse and keyboard, hence I can already see usb ports are going to be an issue, even with all on front and back. Can I use a hub extension to put my throttle, stick and pedals all in same port? Should I use the blue or black for virpl hotas and crosswinds pedals?

Thanks tons.
