SA-2 Guideline

Weren't we supposed to get the SA-2 Guideline with PG map?

Is there any update on when we might see it?

Sa-2 and others assets (SS-1 “SCUD”, Rapier and HY-1 “Silkworm”) never was planned to add with the PG release and that not show as a addon to the PG map in the shop. In fact, that can be a "generic" assets to all DCS maps

So based on the information in today newsletter it will be included in the PG map from the 1st Oct

It is poorly worded. It will be included in the game. Not just the PG map.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Can't wait to control the SA-2 radar/missile (from the command vehicle)

I would expect a guy with 4,305 posts to have a lot of experience with the ways ED does things , in a way that a guy with 22 posts might not comprehend...

Why very distant? They can just take the guidance logic from Tor/Osa basically (without the crosshair, but instead just the radar display with the time-to-intercept etc, all that target data that is already in the SAMs for CombinedArms users)

Has some issues:

1- Meanwhile the Sa-15, Sa-8 has only a vehicle, the Sa-2 and other SAM sites has multiple vehicles / emplacements. ED need implement some logic to take control from the command van (missing yet), to get control over the SNR-75 Fang Son tracking radar and launcher pads. That is critical to all "complex" SAM systems, from a Sa-2 to a Sa-10, Hawk and Patriot.

2- The SNR-75 Fang Son tracking radar has a different vertical to axes scope outside a "circular" radar by the tracking radar design, need implement them.

3- The P-12 radar to early warning missing to azimut warning.

3- The Sa-2 complex can fire 1 to 3 missiles to a single targets from six launchers on sequence by different channels, other functionality to implement.

4- Require the transport, transloader trucks can be reload the launchers rails, and recharge them with new missiles with they return to the stage area.

And I dont talk about a realistic SAM into CA, only a "functional" SAM with some functionality.

Ah, you must be new here :megalol:

Nothing is easy, everything takes time...

I'm not even sure ED would take on the risk of developing a Realistic to the switch SA-2 (full 3D cabins etc)

ED need implement some logic to take control from the command van (missing yet)

command van doesn't even exist yet afaik... (ED didnt publish any screenshot of model, or?)

the only control I would want is search-radar emitting/non emitting, track radar emitting/non emitting and target selection and manual firing (of any missile, not necessary for us to select which missile to fire)

2- The SNR-75 Fang Son tracking radar has a different vertical to axes scope outside a "circular" radar by the tracking radar design, need implement them.

ED could use the SA-11 Buk SAM tracking radar code and change the values to match SA-2.

3- The P-12 radar to early warning missing to azimut warning.

what do you mean by "missing to azimut warning" ?

3- The Sa-2 complex can fire 1 to 3 missiles to a single targets from six launchers on sequence by different channels, other functionality to implement.

This would be one of the lowest priorities imo, maybe first just limiting the general missiles fired on target to be limited to "only 3 missiles en-route to target at the same time"

4- Require the transport, transloader trucks can be reload the launchers rails, and recharge them with new missiles with they return to the stage area.

Also very low priorityimo , as reloading SAM vehicles is not animated at all currently in DCS (and multiplayer has other priorities imo, like adding "radar-state" [radar on/off state]-export to multiplayer servers and also enable 1st person CombinedArms ability to Kub, Buk, Hawk, Roland and maybe even Patriot and S-300 aswell.

Ground commander-GCI-squadron leaders (pilots)-inter-communication/cooperation is where the real strength of DCS multiplayer lies! :pilotfly:
