That would be a nice addition, would be a lot of fun to fly and fight with. However, I'm not holding my breath, as I think they will stick to the training niche for it.

Q: Will we see the Yak-52B?

A: There is no current plans for bringing the version, with weapons to DCS World at this time.

oh, that is said news. nineline, are there any particular reasons for not going for the b-version, other than cost/reward?

i assumed it would come eventually, simply because it is such a low hanging fruit.

maybe there are more differences between the a and b, than one might think?

I am unsure why, or if this is a forever thing, just that right now today, it's not planned. Perhaps if it does well we will have more of a footing to ask for it. So we will see.

Pity. If it had weapons I would buy it, quirky as it is, but I already have one unarmed plane in DCS that doesn't get any use, so I'll pass on this one. Especially for 40$.

Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil T-50CM, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

To me this is not a problem. DCS is IMHO the flight simulator with the best FM and the most realistic flying sensations among all that I know, and to have the opportunity to fly a plane that has also a civil / non military role is Just another opportunity to fly in this amazing environment.

Sure the 'B' would add some versatility and would be very nice, but that aside using bonus points I picked this up for less than the price of a single mediocre dinner out..... I found this plane great fun, pure absolute unadulterated flying fun... If you have VR and flight is a passion you'll have a ball! And if you have imagination... build a Vietnam map and pretend you're a 'bird dog'....

Its a kinda 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull', plane ...

.....bored with daily squabbles .... Seized by a passion for flight, he pushes himself, learning everything he can about flying, until finally his unwillingness to conform results in his expulsion. An outcast, he continues to learn, becoming increasingly pleased with his abilities as he leads a peaceful and happy life.
