Tried this one this morning, it was a good 80 minutes long mission.

I liked the effort and visiting several places to land. It´s tricky following the IA leader and foresee his movements.

Area of operations and weather are wonderful.

Thank you!!

Name: Prairie Fire

Author: Rabies

Mission type: LRRP Extraction

Controllable: UH-1H

Quick Summary: A 6-man LRRP team has been compromised, they are currently bugging out under contact to a steep pinnacle clearing in the A Shau valley. Test your flying skills of the huey, concentrate on your approach and time your loss of translational lift to skids on the ground. Departure with the six man team is possible. Use the geographical location to your advantage and milk that collective!

Please note, for the life of me, I have had issues with the AI not attacking the enemy and when they do, they tend to use door gunners rather than rockets or miniguns. If any of you have any suggestions, I appreciate hearing them, thanks.

CFrag's Lawnmower
v1.01 - 20210414

image.png

Discussion Link: please click here
Download Link: please click here

WARNING: REQUIRES DCS 2.7 OR ABOVE

A Dynamic Helicopter Landing Trainer (with limited MP support).
"CFrag's Lawnmower" is a mission where you train, improve, and test your helicopter landing skills. Request a landing by difficulty (easy, normal, or hard), and the mission generates an LZ based on your request. LZs are generated dynamically, from tens of thousands of possibilities, virtually guaranteeing that no two missions are identical (unless you are unusually patient). Landings are rated individually, and after five or more consecutive landings, your overall skill is rated as well. Harshly. So better step up your game, soldier!

Currently the mission supports all DCS flyable helicopters (Huey, Ka-50, Mi-8 and Gazelle), and you can switch between airframes - just don't do it while tasked with a landing, or you'll score a zero for cheating on that landing. MP Multi-Crew is tentatively included to support Instructor / Student, but may have some lingering bugs during scoring. MP Multi-Unit is currently unsupported.

CENTRAL, READY FOR DEPARTURE

You are Lawnmower One, training landings with Central. Landing zones are created dynamically based on the difficulty that you request

Choose your Helicopter (all types supported), then use the 'F10 Other' Command in Communications to request a landing exercise from Central. Landings are scored individually, and you accumulate a total and average score. After 5 or more landings, you are rated based on your average score. After a landing you can change helicopters and continue.

Each Landing is scored based on

  • difficulty level (easy, normal, hard)
  • time required until touchdown
  • Quality (precision)
  • Helicopter type

LZ are marked by a ring of tires with a red flag sticking out (easy and normal mission), or a ring of red flags (hard). Additionally, the position of the LZ is marked by blue smoke that is positioned just outside the LZ.

A touchdown outside of the marked LZ fails that exercise touchdown with a score of 0 (as does a crash). Aborting an exercise counts as a failed landing (Score 0) towards your total and average score.

You can request three different exercises:

  • Easy: your landing zone will be mostly unobstructed and can be approached from any direction. It's big enough even for inexperienced pilots to hit, maybe even land in. There is a generous time limit, and breaking the limit will simply add less to the score.
  • Normal: your landing zone may be partially obstructed, so plan your approach direction. Landing Zone size is still generous. Time limit is shorter, breaking the limit also only results in a lower score
  • Hard: your landing zone is virtually guaranteed to be obstructed from at least one side, and usually there are obstacles (trees, buildings, vehicles, power lines) close by that may even extend into your LZ. Size of the LZ is what you would expect in real-life extraction missions. Time limit is harsh, and breaking the limit will reduce the entire score to zero.

You must also avoid other units moving about, even if they intrude on your LZ. Landing on a road is therefore not advised.

Helicopter difficulty:

  • Ka-50 (easiest)
  • UH-1
  • SA-324
  • Mi-8 (hardest)
  • (HIND: tbd)

Nobody ever said it was easy. But it's surely fun!

A Helicopter Hover Trainer (all helicopter types supported)

To be able to hover is like being able to parallel parking a car. Difficult, unimpressive, and a prerequisite for flying any helicopter.

Well, here's a small mission that helps you hone that skill with any of DCS's currently available flyable Helicopters.

The mission also throws in some element of scoring to keep you on your toes. Or rather, to keep you keep your toes on your rudder. Oh, and Instructor/Trainer MP setup is tentatively supported (requires more testing)

WARNING: Requires DCS 2.7

-=-

It's the small things. "The enemy gate is down", "Walk before you run" - with helicopters it's "Hover before you Soar". Hovering is not only a quintessential skill, it's also decidedly difficult to learn. Which explains the abundance of training tools available for budding rotor heads... Errrr...

No more. Named after the favorite exclamation of all levitationally challenged chopper jocks-to-be, "Hover, Damn!" is a helicopter hover trainer. It won't teach you how it's done right (only time can do that), but it provides you with an environment to train up and hone your "just the effing stay there!" skill.

In this mission you choose a Helicopter (all current DCS flyable helicopters supported) and the use the F10 Option in Communications to request a hover exercise from Central. A second later, your helicopter - wherever it may be - is surrounded by a ring of cheap disposable objects to mark the zone. Increase cyclic, and once you hover, try to stay centered in this ring. Every second you are scored, and the score is added to your total -- until you touch down, explode, or drift out of the ring.

That's all.

Simple, right?

So when do you know you are good at hovering? The sad truth is: probably never. Good enough? When you start noticing just how much else is going on at Sochi around you.

image.png

"Hover Damn" supports Instructor/Student setup. Instructors can fly the helicopter anywhere and initiate the mission there. Perimeter marks will be constructed on the spot (after touch down of course).

Mission Designer Notes

You can add any client-controlled helicopter anywhere on the map. The mission will automatically work with that helicopter as well.

CFrag's Dustblower - Helicopter landing trainer in Syria
v1.0 - 20210428

Discussion Thread: please click here
Download Link: please click here

image.png

WARNING: REQUIRES DCS 2.7 OR ABOVE and Syria

TLDR: The notorious "Lawnmower" Dynamic Helicopter Landing Trainer, now in Syria by popular demand.

CAVEAT EMPTOR: if you did not like "Lawnmower", don't even bother with this one.

"CFrag's Dustblower", sister to "CFrag's Lawnmower", is a mission to train, improve, and test your helicopter landing skills.

MP Multi-Crew is tentatively included to support Instructor / Student, but may have some lingering bugs during scoring. MP Multi-Unit is currently unsupported.

HIGH SPIRE, DUSTBLOWER ONE IS READY FOR DEPARTURE

After finally acing that landing on the gas platform off Batumi's coast, you are now "Dustblower One", training with High Spire in Syria. As before, Landing zones are created dynamically based on the difficulty that you request. Unlike in Caucasus, there is currently only one location available (with possible updates if feedback warrants it):

  • Haifa
Densely populated, Haifa is a beautiful city with a busy port. Missions here are slightly more difficult than their Caucasus (Lawnmower) counterpart, with the "difficult" missions bordering on dangerous. Also not helping: the drop-dead beautiful scenery that will distract you. Oh, and you are racing the clock in more than one way - sundown is sixty minutes after start-up. Landings will get progressively more difficult as darkness falls across the Mediterranean Sea.

Choose your Helicopter (all types supported), then use the 'F10 Other' Command in Communications to request a landing exercise from Central. Landings are scored individually, and you accumulate a total and average score. After 5 or more landings, you are rated based on your average score. After a landing you can change helicopters and continue.

Operation Merchant Freedom (Huey Mission)

attachment.php?attachmentid=215989&stc=1&d=1566507700

A simple, topical, Military Transport Pilot Rescue mission. A British based special forces insertion operation with all the briefing materials contained within the mission file(no lengthy materials to read and digest). It will last approximately 30 minutes and includes a labels option for those with impaired vision.

The mission does require Mods and for simplicity, I have included all of these in a one off download pack, containing full instructions. It contains Liveries, Mods and the mission to immerse yourself fully in the experience.

If it's your "thang" please download and enjoy. Cheers. (Persian Gulf Map required).

I gave this a try last night and it no longer seems to work properly. I initially had issues as it's a hot start mission with the throttle being maxed so it takes off straight away, although I think this is a DCS/HOTAS issue. The problem I'm having is that there's no way to board the infantry team, as it says the infantry team is lost at the start of the mission, even though I can see the infantry team in front of me!

"Sea Flea Mission One" - UH-1 Single/Two Player (Syria Map, Super Carrier)

image.png

Version: 2.0.2 (MP) - 20211023 (initial release)

Download: please see here

Required Modules: UH-1 Huey, Syria, Super Carrier

Players: 1 - 2

Feedback: Please use the original thread

Summary:
"Sea Flea" is a string of missions taking place during an international relief mission for the middle east that runs up against a developing international crisis. You are part of "Sea Flea", a UH-1 group that was originally thought to provide logistics support. These missions initially focus on logistics and CSAR, then branch out to troop insertion and light escort duty. This is the first mission that introduces you to the fleet, and therefore requires you to only land on frigates, a carrier and LHA, and hover-extract some hapless sailors lost at sea. You know, the easy stuff. Oh yeah. In darkness. Over open water.

There are at least two more missions that are currently undergoing testing.

Duration: This mission typically runs 45 minutes.

Weather: CAVOK, medium wind from the North-West. Dusk, expect darkness in 50 Minutes

How to play:
Whenever you are not sure what to do, choose Communication->F-10 Other->Task Force Status Update and you will receive instructions to your current objective, including BRA and Frequencies. The mission isn't over until you are told so, so don't think that simply because you are ordered RTB means that you are done, soldier!

Background:
Another pandemic has swept the world in a deadly, year-long crisis that helped forge new alliances, yet also re-kindled generations-old enmity. Four month after finally becoming available, the first doses of a new vaccine are being shipped to the Middle East to jump-start this region's vaccination efforts. Tensions here have always been high, and the innumerable casualties caused by the pandemic have brought this region to the brink of collapse. In the past three months, a universal lock-down, coupled with news of combined international support, has helped to calm the mercurial political landscape and established a surprisingly enduring, if perhaps deceptive, peace.

Three bulk carriers, carrying a total of 10 million doses of the new vaccine, are enroute to Jableh (Syria), where the main distribution hub is being set up. Led by the UN, both USA and Russia are lending their support. An international task force under the command of Admiral Behring is implementing UN's "Uplift Shield" mandate. They are escorting the three bulkers to ensure their safety; landed expeditionary forces in Syria are supporting the build-up of regional infrastructure. Since Jableh has no port facilities, your group of UH-1H will be tasked with helping to land, distribute and protect the vaccine once the bulkers reach the shore later tonight.

At 03:02 this morning, Fleet Intel reported that a coup attempt was underway in Syria's capitol. The situation appears to be fluid, and it seems that at least one yet to be identified country is supporting the attempt. As of 03:45 the Task Force is at heightened readiness. The day has been uneventful. As the sun sets, some fighting has been reported in and around Damascus, but it hasn't spread to other cities - probably in part due to the pandemic lock-down. Our landed troops at Jableh report the situation as "uneasy but calm".

Initial Objectives
Twenty minutes ago, our E-2D early warning aircraft "Eagle Eye" reported an unsanctioned SAM-Site go on-line in Jableh. Our Russian Liaison have confirmed that the SAM is none of theirs; they have agreed to our plans to immediately neutralize the threat. Two Turkish F-4 scrambled out of Lebanon are already enroute, with a flight of F/A-18 being readied on the Truman.

Two minutes ago, "Eagle Eye" have reported multiple bogeys inbound on the Task Force. This can't be a coincidence. More CAP are being scrambled, and Task Force actual has ordered to relocate her flag to the Ticonderoga-Class Cruiser "Kraft" .

Your orders are to check in with Task Force command and stand by for tasking.

Single/Multiplayer
This mission can be accomplished either solo or two-player coop. Both players are required to own all modules. You can only play BLUEFORCE.

Hot and cold starting is provided.

Next Steps
Currently, two more missions are near complete: one that focuses on troop insertion and cargo delivery (with an optional F/A-18 interlude for those who like combined arms), the other a combat escort.

"Sea Flea Mission Two" - UH-1 (and 'special guests') Single/Two Player (Syria Map, Super Carrier)

image.png

Version: 1.0.2 (MP) - 20211029 (original version)

Download: Please see here

Required Modules: UH-1 Huey, Syria, Super Carrier
Optional Modules: Ka-50, Hind, F/A-18, AV-8B ('special guest' player modules, not required)

Players: 1 - 2

Feedback: Please use the original thread for discussion

Summary:
This is the second mission in the "Sea Flea" Huey saga that plays out during an international relief mission in the middle east. You are "Sea Flea", a UH-1 group that originally participated to provide simple logistics support.

This mission picks up the morning after the events of Mission One. It contains an optional "special guest" stage: a strike mission intended for owners of the F/A-18, Ka-50, or Hind modules. Players can simply skip this stage.

Duration:
This mission typically runs some 80 minutes (45 minutes when skipping stage one).

Weather:
CAVOK, moderate sea breeze. Morning, cool temperatures.

How to play:
The optional first part of this mission (SEAD) cannot be completed in a Huey - for this you must choose to pilot an F/A-18, Hind, Ka-50 or Harrier. To skip this stage, choose 'Communication->F10 Other->Skip Stage One (SEAD)'

In multiplayer, player-controlled attack helicopters can also opt to escort Sea Flea in later stages; at least one Huey is required to start stage two (for troop insertion); furthermore, Hind and Ka-50 can lend a hand at sling loading in stage three.

Whenever you are not sure what to do, choose 'Communication->F-10 Other->Task Force Status Update' and you will receive instructions to your current objectives, including BRA and Frequencies. This mission has three (two) stages: 1. SEAD (optional), 2. Troop Insertion, 3. Cargo transport (sling loading).

image.png

Background:
The vaccine relief fleet has finally dropped anchor off Jablah, with preparations underway to land their life-saving cargo, and then ready the vaccine as quickly as possible for application by medical professionals.

Concurrently, a yet to be identified aggressor is fueling a coup attempt in the capitol, Damascus. Forces are trying to establish footholds in other location across Syria, in a clear attempt to take advantage of the pandemic lockdown.

The UN-led expeditionary force that is tasked with securing the area has come under fire, and was forced to retreat. Unknown RED forces are advancing, with supply being brought in at alarming speed and quantity from the North; a RED push that Fleet Intel predicted from the Damascus region did not materialize.

Objectives
Last night, the bulkers dropped anchor one Klick West off the shoreline, and are ready to unload the first batch of vaccines. Two Chinooks out of Hatay were to help with unloading the cargo and airlift it to Baniyas stadium, the intended distribution center.

image.png

An hour ago, our security detail at Bassel Al-Assad was attacked and we no longer control the airfield. The aggressor is now working to reinforce their position: at least three "Zoos" are emplaced around the airfield perimeter. They heavily damaged the Chinooks, which just barely managed to reach FARP "Brian Wilson". The second Chinook crash-landed; both transport helicopters are now out of commission. Luckily everyone got out alive. Scouts have reported additional troops, possibly with more SAMs, inbound from the North, with the airfield being their most likely destination.

E3 Overwatch reports at least two groups of fast movers inbound from the Damascus area and predict that they will clear the mountain ridge's radar shadow to the East within the next 20 minutes.

We are scrambling Vanguard to take care of the aerial threat, while Striker is tasked to deal with the new AAA threat at Al-Assad. Helicopter groups Hammershark and Bumblebee are standing by to support the strike, while Tarawa's Harriers are also ready to engage.

Once the AAA threat has been handled, Apache flight Jawbreaker is tasked to take out the reinforcements coming in from the North, while Sea Flea is to pick up commandos from FARP "Brian Wilson" just south of the Jablah Marina, and insert them at Al-Assad with orders to retake the airfield.

When the airfield is secure, Sea Flea will proceed to unload the vaccine from the bulkers to FARP "Brian Wilson".

Background:
We have re-taken and secured Bassel Al-Assad. Fleet Intel have yet to identify the political powers behind the aggressors, but it is safe to say that they are not Syrian. News from Damascus is sparse. Fighting is still contained to the Palace and surrounding areas. Over night, the aggressors have moved additional forces in from the north, but currently, there are few visible troop movements north of Hama.

We are now one day behind schedule, and a disinformation campaign about the reasons for our presence here is picking up. We need to start vaccinations today, lest more people start believing that we are simply another occupation force in a region that has seen too many.

Objectives
At FARP "Brian Wilson", our med techs have worked furiously through the night to un-freeze, unpack and ready the first batch of vaccines for application. Preparations for administering to the general population have concluded: 100'000 doses are now good to go. Since the Chinooks remain out of service, the doses, syringes and other essential supplies are being loaded into trucks. A convoy nick-named 'Max Vax' is assembling east of FARP "Brian Wilson". Sea Flea is to take up security details at FARP "Brian Wilson", and then meet up and escort Max Vax to their destination roughly 10 miles south at Baniyas Stadium, where our medical staff then can start the vaccination operation itself.

"Slicer", a flight of four F14-B off Truman will proceed with a deliberate show of strength: their task is to perform several low-altitude passes over Jablah to demonstrate superiority and discourage anyone from taking pot-shots at the convoy and escort.

sea flea 3 tac map.jpg

The fast movers are fully armed and have orders to engage anyone who poses a threat. Eagle Eye is on-station to establish overwatch. It is of paramount importance that the convoy arrives at their destination and the vaccinations can start today. We have no time for negotiations, and the civil authorities have agreed. Sea Flea, your Rules Of Engagement are Weapons Free.

Beacons are active:

  • FARP "Brian Wilson" at 44.4 MHZ
  • Convoy "Max Vax" at 44.0 MHz

Radio Comms:

  • 251 MHz "Eagle Eye" Sentry
  • 127.5 Mhz Tyrus
  • 124.0 MHz Truman
  • 124.0 MHz Slicer

We expect no resistance, but keep your eyes open for the occasional malcontent or insurgent. The route we are taking is predictable, very public, can easily be monitored and offers plenty of opportunities for ambush. We have established four checkpoints along the way to safeguard the convoy's passage as good as we can.

Single/Multiplayer
This mission can be accomplished either solo or two-player coop. You can only play BLUEFORCE.

All units start hot.

Hints:

  • Each Huey can carry troops
  • After deploying infantry troops you can pick the surviving troops back up
  • To deploy the your infantry you are carrying, simply land the helicopter

Enjoy,
-ch

THE KOBULETI AIRSHOW MISSION V4.0 for 2.8

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3325949/

This Mission gets broken ever time the Game Version gets updated when it went from 2.7 to 2.8 the AI Helicopters at the start of the mission should land on Farp pads as the announcer talks about the history of each one. If  they do not land it will screwup the AI Airplanes that will start to land. Some of Them also start having problems but not as bad this time. All has been fixed for 2.8 in the Stable Version of DCS. It is in English and as the picture tells No written Text. The mission is Fun but made to be hard when it comes to the Combat and landings and you will need experience in flying a Huey. With that said this could help you get better. The hardest part is taking out 4 gunboats at one pass before they rip you apart. I have made this mission and it has one way to come out unhit if you're lucky and your gunners are on top of it. You could edit and turn this into a mission for crew if you wish. I have it for Single play. I also had to remove the AI message man that use to run up to the Huey to deliver a message because the AI will not fallow waypoints very broken running all over the place like sheep. It is fixed again for 2.8 and It has never been a popular Mission but It is very fun for me. VR user's can have problems with FPS issues and feel free to delete the extra crowd and Trucks on the Aircraft parking areas leave the back gate alone. Might be fun. I like it.
