Hi Oscar,

 

I flew the second mission on v4 of the Hornet Over PG and the wingman did not engage the mission. Pretty weird...

Well I think the problem comes from the new AGM-65F : launch distance is less than other versions so I need to change it in the db_loadouts.lua file ...

 

I hope it will solve this problem....

I have the same problem. Wingman wont engage ships for Some reason. Also im Being sent allmost only on ship strikes for Some reason. And to make matters worse, i destroyed all the ships, and only have to kill the ffg neutrashimy. But it kills my flight with sa-15,s before i fire any of my Mavericks because im to far out to get a lock with the maverick F,s. So in pretty much stuck and my wingman doesnt do anything either so i,m kinda stuck now. p.s I can send you the base_mission for the carrier with crew if give me an e-mail adress or something.

I tried to change engaging distance but it didn’t work :( I think last beta updates bugged AI.

The best solution is to stop anti ship missions waiting for better times :(

(I even tried to add engage ships orders in the com menu but AI don’t want to attack ships :( )

It's nearly impossible to destroy a Neutrashimy with 2 planes only even with correct engaging distance. I think it will be possible with four with correct engaging distance so I changed the number of planes to be used to attack this target (waiting for Harpoon :music_whistling:)

But I think we must wait a new Maverick update now...

It's nearly impossible to destroy a Neutrashimy with 2 planes only even with correct engaging distance. I think it will be possible with four with correct engaging distance so I changed the number of planes to be used to attack this target (waiting for Harpoon :music_whistling:)

Btw, matter of curiosity. Not that matters much, but how the pointing calculations works there? I always get only 51pts or so, even if I complete the objective and rtb safely (with the flight and all).

I also ran into another little issue. But its not really problem related to the DCE engine but DCS & real life problem. When i get a CAP mission & run into a Iranian F-14 with AIM-54,s its game over. The aim 54,s range is much greater then the aim-120b/c,s. There is just no way to kill the tomcats either & no way to move in close enough for a Kill. I wonder how they the f-18 would tackle the problem in real life though.

 

Also, other flights from the carriers tasked by the DCE never seem to leave the carrier. They just sit there for the remainder of the flight. Not a dealbreaker, but still it would really help if the AI carrier flight help out a little.

F-14 are really difficult to beat ! I killed one in my AV-8 DCE campaign but it was pure luck : I avoided 2 Phoenix and a Sparrow at very very low altitude, Escort M-2000C came to help me and I was able to fire my sole Sidewinder to a Tomcat I killed :music_whistling:

 

 

For other FA-18C on the deck you must look at the mission briefing to see if other missions are planned later (with CombatFlite you can know exactly what they will do ;) )

Yeah i have absolutly no awnser or way of killing the f-14 unless i get in range enough for Aim120c,s at least. But its the AIM-54,s that prevent that. Basicly all i can do at the moment when dealing with f-14,s is go afterburner & run. But as soon as LGB,s and targeting pods are released maybe i can attempt to take them out on the ground untill they are 0% on th DCE roster.

 

And wait! There is a Av8 DCE campaign? Is there one for the PG map as well? Its about time id take the av8 for Some flying again.

 

Whats combatflite if you dont mind me asking?

There is... but it needs mission edition after each mission generation : there’s a bug with AI spawning and taking off from LHA-Tarawa.

You need to put player plane in fourth position and wingman 2 in first position. When you ask for engine start to ATC the AI will take off immediately then you can initiate your starting procedure... not sure everybody want to do it ?!?

Well, current FA-18C campaign over Caucasus is not mine. But I’m ready to make a carrier version of this campaign.

I've just started the FA18 Caucasus campaign. I have a problem where the debrief flashes up very quickly then disappears. Any ideas?

 

Hi Dave,

 

Use alt+tab to go to the command prompt window (DOS like window), type “y” and “ENTER” to generate a new mission, once it is generate, close that window, alt+tab to the summary list (TXT like window), read the assets lost on both side, close that window (not necessary to save). Done!

 

You may fly another window!

Can someone help me please, I cannot play the Desert Fishbed 76 campaign as the red bases as these do not have any Mig weapons.

 

I could not manage to resupply these bases by transferring weapons from another base.

 

I posted my problem on the specific Desert Fishbed 76 forum but there was no reply.

Im still absolutly loving these campaigns. They are quite addictive ad your bombared with tons of realistic missions where other AI flights also play a part in the DCE campaign while Being very realistic. It the closest one can Get to the Falcon allied Forces dynamic campaign.

Just out of curiousity, what are the criteria for losing a campaign instead of winning it. Can the campaign be lost if you perform poorly?

The "best way" to lose those campaigns is to lose nearly all the planes of your squadron :music_whistling:

 

With your Hornet squadron you can lose the campaign if your CV is sunk too...

That worries me since my wingman gets lost Many Many times due to the horrible AI for the wingman.

-I'm tasked to sink a Russian cruiser in my second mission, with only one wingman (we have 8 IR MAVs in total). That's not possible...

 

-REQUIRED UPDATE: before you send us for trophy hunting: replace the cruiser with smaller patrol boats (Grisha, or whatever it's called...) OR wait until we get the Harpoon + increase the strike package size. With only two jets and only IRMAV it's impossible to sink the ship.

WHen I get such assignment, I take off, abort the mission and rtb. I prefer that over skip the mission.bat... :-)
