Emmy
If we want to play MP, we are practically compelled to use OB, as most of the servers run on it, so please guys don't tell us that we can just use stable instead. It's is only a valid point for SP. Totally This! Which is ok for those of us on standalone. Steam users don't get a choice. It's stable or very broken OB. I suggested ED implement what some other games do where you get to choose the version you want to run. 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo

smitherb
Lets ensure expectations are managed here, I wouldn't be too optimistic that everything will be fixed with this next patch today, its only been 5 days since 2.5.6. Im just attempting to temper enthusiasm so that excited folks don't get too disappointed if they expect everything to be perfect. Felipius
Updated to 2.5.6, DCS hung on Load with bar at 10%. Did a REPAIR and it loads fine . BUT if I load VOICEATTACK running VAICOM Pro profile DCS reverts to not loading, getting stuck with bar on 10%. Again only way to sort it is to REPAIR again, then run without Voiceattack running. The R EPAIR says it finds 2 files (which I assume Voiceattack is creating or modifying), these have to be deleted to get DCS to load Sounds/Speech/common.lua Sounds/Speech/speech.lua Same here. Not running VR, and no log file, but it seems the same issue: Load bar at 10%, repairing seems to correct the isse but it appears again when I run Vaicom pro.

I suggested ED implement what some other games do where you get to choose the version you want to run. It's quite easy to move from steam to standalone. I did it some time back myself. Only wish I did it earlier, I had bought most of the modules while on steam&missed out on a bunch of miles if I had gotten them later& directly from ED. I'm not aware of any advantages of playing from steam. jester224
I am on Steam for good or ill. What I find is usually, and 2.5.6 was exception, is that the releases roll out pretty much the same time. With steam it will patch as soon as it can. I don't have access to everything and mods can be a little more fiddly, but this is outweighed by the patching.

BoneDust
No I am not a moderator but I just don't understand why people are asking questions which have already been answered by ED. unknown
Some people don't have time to read through 10,000 posts. :) You don't have to, but reading the posts from the same day is not asking to much for, or is it? You had one answer direct above your post! For a more specific answer all you had to do was looking on the PREVIOUS page, the same goes for Lenux, just a look at the previous page and you had your answer before even posting the question.
