Hi Everyone,

 

This thread will remain locked and will contain change logs and development snippets/updates as we go along. :)

 

Changelog for today's hotfix:

 

2019-03-18 Hotfix Patch (Open Beta)

 

  • Add keybinds for nose strut kneel & extend

  • Disable Persian Gulf Tour & Dance of the Vampires missions temporarily

  • Potential fix for Page 3 (datalink) kneeboard CTD

  • Basic force feedback support

  • Corrected high-G damage model. Aircraft will now always disintegrate properly at excess G.

  • Jester Menu multimonitor fix (now centred)

  • Implemented extra VDI pitch ladder display modes

  • Added LANTIRN section to PDF manual

 

The next hotfix patch will contain RAM usage fixes that we've been working on over the weekend as well as bunch of other QoL stuff.

We had hoped to have these in the first hotfix but this build was compiled on Friday.

Hotfix Today (22/03/2019) includes important updates for RAM usage as well as IO/CPU usage on mission start!

 

DCS F-14 Tomcat Hotfix Patch 22-03-2019 Changelog:

 

  • Prevent “Iceman” from using throttle on the ground.

  • Prevent NTDS datalink and CAINS on Kuznetsov carrier.

  • Reduce engine thrust at extreme altitudes.

  • Change sidewinder HUD movable reticle to show only center of scan pattern.

  • New sidewinder lock tone based on SME feedback.

  • Add Jester option to explicitly select some weapon station combinations.

  • Added tape player volume controls.

  • Significantly reduced F-14 RAM usage.

  • Significantly reduced Disk IO & CPU usage at mission start.

  • Reduced loading times.

  • Fixed JESTER being silent at mission start.

  • Rename input category HCU to Hand Control Unit for consistency.

  • Add keybinds for speedbrake toggle, hook toggle, parking brake, emergency jettison, anti-skid spoiler brake.

  • Fixed very frequent CTD due to Jester sound missing.

DCS F-14 Tomcat Update Changelog - April 1st 2019

 

 

  • Fixed CTD with Jester sound memory allocation
  • Sidewinder volume input entries corrected
  • Removed 'ECM Jam Toggle' from the pilot input.
  • Jester "tune TAC" and "tune ground station" channel number fixed for channels >= 64Y (previously Jester was adding one to the channel number for that range).
  • Fixed Jester swapping X and Y when using TACAN manual tune.
  • LANTIRN sensitivity to fog and dust adjusted/fixed. Should now be possible to engage tracking with dust enabled.
  • Countermeasures mission editor preset loading fixed.
  • Fixed datalink frequency keybinds not updating panel rollers.
  • Tuned core and afterburner thrust slightly.
  • Adjusted inlet efficiency.
  • Adjusted compressor stall and other engine issue probabilities in SEC mode.

DCS F-14 Changelog

 

Today's F-14 patch is primarily focused on new content (including great community content) and tweaking the flight model based on detailed and exceptional SME feedback.

Next patch will include substantial art developments/fixes and other system/jester related additions.

 

  • Added User-Campaign “OPERATION CAGE THE BEAR” by Kaba. Thank you!

  • Added Singleplayer Mission “HB Pitching Deck” for the Persian Gulf Map

  • Added Coop Mission “HB Pitching Deck COOP 4 up to 2 Crews” for the Persian Gulf Map

  • Changed camera max view angle from 180 to 140 (thx reddit user /u/ohyeah2389 for this)

  • You can buzz the carrier with your AI wingman, and he won't look like a flapping bird anymore

  • AI wingman will adjust wing sweep to match the lead aircraft when flying in formation with a human lead who has the tail hook down

  • INS shows correct groundspeed based on flight path angle (i.e. zero groundspeed when flying pure vertical)

  • Further increased pitch stability

  • Adjusted pitch moments for gear, flaps, and speedbrake

  • Adjusted drag for gear, flaps, and slats

  • Increased engine pitch moment with flaps down

  • Reduced engine pitch moment with flaps up

  • Slightly reduced refuel probe yaw moment

  • Slightly increased G at which wing structural failure will occur
  • Adjusted pitch moments for flaps, speedbrake and power
  • Adjusted yaw damping with flaps down
  • Fixed wing sweep program indicator in bomb mode
  • Bomb mode now doesn't stick
  • ASH better handles spawn heading errors on carrier
  • Fixed INS drift due to DCS reporting different aircraft heading before and after spawn.
  • Fixed ASH wrong wind calculations, fixes bomb fall line inaccuracy at high wind speeds.
  • Installed anti-lag filter in the INS alignment routines - should reduce INS drift from lags.
  • Fixed afterburners being invisible - pending further improvement
  • Fixed invisible RIO DDD lights

  • Fixed typo in Carrier Quals CVN-73 Quickstart mission name.
  • Re-added Supercarrier Coop missions for Carrier Quals.
  • Fixed version mismatch that may have caused several smaller issues.
  • Fixed kneel switch behavior: aircraft will not spawn kneeled anymore and a simple down-press of the switch to kneel the aircraft will not prevent using NWS if extended again. (Solenoid holdback is still WIP and will be added in the next patches).
  • Adjusted flap drag while overspeeding with full flaps deployed.
  • Fixed fuel flow fluctuation caused by inlet performance discontinuity when AOA crosses from 180 to -180 degrees at low speeds

  • Complete lighting overhaul and readjustment:
  • Fixed annunciator lights not being visible.
  • Fixed green dot showing in HUD.
  • Tweaked flood light intensity.
  • Tweaked value of remaining daylight required to spawn with cockpit lights on - will be generally later in the day now.
  • Fixed vertical panels not changing light intensity in sync with other panels.
  • Changed red flood lights to dim per default when spawning at dusk or night.
  • HSD, ECMD and TID brightness start with lower values when spawning at dusk or night.
  • Fixed Lantirn panel lights appearing without the Lantirn stick being visible.
  • Fixed exterior lighting bugs.
  • Tweaked canopy glass cockpit and exterior.
  • Fixed Jester infinite input loop during TWS-A.
  • Added possibility to load 10 Mk20 Rockeyes. Note: MAK-79 is still WIP and not visible atm.
  • Finished Kneel Switch solenoid behavior.
  • Minor tweaks to flaps overspeed/overG and flaps jamming.
  • Tweaked asymmetric flap roll.
  • Adjusted fine trim single step intensity (trim should be more precise now).

  • Known issue: ACM Panel SW Cool, Gun rate, Missile Prep and Missile Mode lights do not change intensity with ACM panel lighting intensity setting - WIP.
