The Forgotten

A gathering of pilots to enjoy the early cold war planes. We are NOT Recruiting (but any pilot regardless of skill level is welcome to fly with us). And if you feel like you have found a home you are welcome to join...ignore what I said before. 🙂

Rules:

1. Show up when you feel like it.

2. Be in any other group you want.

3. No ranks

4. No required training

We fly group co-ops every Sunday at 19:00 UTC. Missions alternate between focusing on the F-86F Sabre one week and the A-4E-C Skyhawk/F-5E Tiger II the other week. Our missions range from Korean War (Caucuses map) Syrian Crisis 1957 the Vietnam War (Caucuses map) and the Middle East of the 60-70s.

We have two 24/7 public servers:

The Korean War

The Vietnam War (WWII Assets Pack NOT required but the A-4 Skyhawk is...but that is FREE)

A handy Discord server full of...well...information, bad puns and cool pictures.

https://discord.gg/C5C3Kw3

And of course the ubiquitous over large squadron logo:

Welcome to the 366th vFW.

We try to fly with the highest realism possible in DCS. We fly the F16C Fighting Falcon, A10C Thunderbolt II and in the future the F15E Strike Eagle. Our Fighter Wing flies the following modules:

389th vFS flying the F16C (Recruitment closed)

391st vFS flying the F15E in the future (Recruitment closed)

428th vFS flying the A10C (Recruitment open)

Our main map is the Nevada test and training range as we use that map for our training. Other maps will be used in deployments, mostly the PG and Syria.

We train each friday 1800z (Summertime) | 1900z (wintertime) and attending min. 2x trainings each month is mandatory except real life gets in the way. Although, new pilots are required to fly more than that to complete their training

If you are new to the squadron you will be in a 3 month "test" phase. If your attendance was high enough and we think that you are interested in our Wing you will be welcomed as a full member. During the "test" phase you will already start you IQT based on your individual skill you bring to the unit, therefore the IQT length can vary. Once you completed your IQT you will move on to the MQT in which you will learn how to employ your aircraft and it's weapon systems in combat.

What we offer:

-A realistic experience in which we find the most fun

-Briefings and debriefings of every mission

-Over 300 pages of training material with several hundreds more in the works

-A chance to build up the squadron and act as a CO for one of our squadrons

What we expect/what you need:

-A mic. -Be motivated to fly with us.

-The NTTR and either the A10 or F16.

We are currently looking for experienced A10 and F16 drivers that can help us stand up our squadrons:

-Be able to start-up, takeoff and land safely

-Capable of using most/all A2G munitions and it's systems

-Capable of using all A2A munitions and it's systems

526th.png

526th Virtual Tactical Fighter Squadron (526th vTFS) is a MilSim F-4E squadron within Combined Joint Task Force 13 (European Time Zone).

If you want to fly the F-4E in a realistic manner with like-minded people, read on or check out our more detailed recruitment thread here.

What we offer:

  • Continuation Training (CT) in accordance with a hypothetical but realistic F-4E Ready Aircrew Program (RAP) Tasking Memorandum (RTM) based on the present-day AFMAN 11-2F-V1 series of publications and historical sources. Systematic upgrade training might be offered long-term, instructor capacity permitting.
  • A digital back end, to include a DAFMAN 11-401/AFTO 781/ARMS-based flight and weapons employment logging system.
  • TO 1F-4E-1CL-1 based in style and content on TO 1F-4(R)C-1CL-1, however modified to reflect available TO 1F-4E-1.
  • A hypothetical AFMAN 11-2F-4E, Volume 3.
  • A hypothetical AFTTP 3-3.F-4E (Basic Employment Manual, BEM).
  • A proprietary Advanced Employment Manual (AEM), featuring generic parts such as an illustrated missile and threat database and F-4E-specific parts.
  • Mission material to include a Mission Data Card, a Drag Index/Weight calculator, and ballistics calculator.
  • Integration into a joint wing with the associated benefits in terms of server infrastructure, common mission planning, training, and combat operations.
  • Flight in real-life peacetime and realistic wartime airspace.

What we expect:

  • Own at least the Persian Gulf and Syria maps.
  • The willingness to self-study and train yourself continuously based on available real-life and squadron documentation. We intend to learn to fly the F-4E together, not to spoon-feed knowledge unidirectionally.
  • The willingness to log your flights in the squadron AFTO 781/ARMS.
  • Maintain an activity rate (lookback) that corresponds to the real-life USAF simulator and sortie requirements for at least Basic Mission Capable (BMC) status. For inexperienced aircrew, this translates to 6+2 RAP missions/simulators in 2 months (a one-month probation is applied per default), or 18+6 RAP missions/simulators in 3 months, and 24+8 RAP missions/simulators in 12 months (these annual requirements result from a proration to 33.3% as per real-life standards). In 526th vTFS, a "real" flight needs to fulfil specific criteria in terms of realism, a "simulator" might be an air spawn, for example.
  • Maintain currencies (e.g. landing currency, AAR currency) and attain a minimum number of annual basic skills events (e.g. instrument approaches) according to real-life regulations.
  • Maintain a weapons qualification or familiarity in all weapons carried by the F-4E as per real-life standards.
  • Perform a monthly Emergency Procedures Evaluation (EPE) either in the shape of a simplified BOLD FACE test or an Emergency Procedures (EP) simulator.
  • Within 17-months of joining the squadron and every 17 months thereafter, complete QUAL, INSTM and MSN evaluations as per AFMAN 11-2F-15E, Volume 2 standards adjusted for the F-4E, to include the associated theoretical open-book examinations. For Combat Mission Ready (CMR) status, passing verification (a tactical quiz) is additionally required. Members will remain in Recruit status without access to the BEM and AEM until completing their first QUAL and INSTM evaluations. Members will be barred from unsupervised combat missions until completing their first MSN evaluation.
  • Note that you are more than welcome to fly both as a pilot and as a WSO as long as you meet the BMC sortie requirements for at least one position.

What we would like:

  • Your willingness to pass on your skills to other members by acting as instructor/evaluator in due time.

How to join:

  • Visit the CJTF-13 Discord and ask for 526th vTFS or contact me via PM here on the forums.
  • After a short chat about your background and motivation and clarifying any questions, you will be asked to submit Tacview recordings showing you flying the F-4E in Persian Gulf and Syria. This is to verify you actually own the modules and have set up your basic controls.
  • If desired, you may then review our RTM for a more in-depth look into our training system.
  • With this out of the way, you will run through a brief CJTF-13 introduction (standards, expectations), after which you will hopefully be admitted as a recruit.

See you in the virtual skies!

Recruiting Poster 2020.png

VF-111 SUNDOWNERS is seeking new PILOT and RADAR INTERCEPT OFFICER aircrew of all skill levels.

VF-111 was founded in the fall of 2018 and currently operates the F-14A Tomcat as a member squadron of Carrier Strike Group One (CSG-1). Our mission set is air superiority, fleet defense, and strike. We train for complex large scale operations and emphasize the execution of realistic procedures and tactics where possible (and practicable). We utilize SRS for voice communication during flight. Official flight times are Sundays at 2030 Eastern Time with unofficial flights and training events throughout the week. Correspondence and planning during off hours is typically conducted via Discord.

The onboarding process consists of a standardization period where applicants will be given time to familiarize themselves with the squadron and the nature of our operations. Applicants are introduced to our training program which will allow them to build confidence in their aircraft, and attain proficiency in our procedures. Once an applicant has become sufficiently acclimated to the environment and all parties involved have determined the applicant is a good fit, full membership will be granted. Ages 18 plus preferred- good attitude and team mindset required.

More information about CSG-1:

CSG-1 is comprised of two F-14 Squadrons (VF-2, VF-111), two F-18C Squadrons (VFA-25, VMFA-122), and one AV-8 Squadron (VMA-231). All aforementioned squadrons are in varying states in terms of staffing levels and initial qualification criteria.

We encourage all who may be interested to stop by our Discord server (LINK)

41Sqn and OCU

41Sqn and it's OCU are run under the guidance of an ex-RAF Fighter Sqn Commander and fly as closely to real as is possible in DCS. We teach and train to RAF OCU syllabus to give an insight into the workings of an operational Sqn that wouldn't be possible other than by joining the RAF.

If you are interested in flying with us, please go to the RAFAIRUK website, go to the Squadrons tab, OCU and check out our syllabus and introduction video. For further details either join us on the RAFAIRUK Teamspeak and have a chat or PM me here and I'll get back to you.

To join, we prefer that you can do a full manual start, taxy, takeoff and land safely. Also you should be able to fly minimum 3 nights per week. It's free and you'll be learning from the best source there is in a sim environment! What's not to like? Humour and banter is a major part of our post-flight repartee, but so is working at what we do. Gamers please pass us by, ex aircrew and those wanting to fly low-level formation, multi-package missions in green/yellow conditions come on down!

Number 19 Squadron (often written as No. XIX Squadron) was a flying squadron of the Royal Air Force formed on 1 September 1915 as a Royal Flying Corps squadron, the unit served during the First World War. In 1938, No. 19 Squadron became the first squadron in the RAF to operate the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I and was stationed at RAF Duxford after the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, and part of No. 12 Group, RAF Fighter Command.

Douglas Bader was posted to the squadron in February 1940. In May and June 1940, the squadron helped provide air cover over the Dunkirk beaches. In June 1940, No. 19 Squadron began the receive Spitfire Mk.Ibs, which were armed with the Hispano cannon, however due to reliability issues the unit soon reverted to the Spitfire Mk.Ia. No. 19 Squadron formed part of the Duxford Wing, No. 12 Group's 'Big Wing' formation during the Battle of Britain.

Later versions of Spitfires were flown until the arrival of North American Mustang Mk.IIIs for close-support duties in early 1944. After D-Day, No. 19 Squadron briefly went across the English Channel before starting long-range escort duties from RAF Peterhead, Scotland, for Coastal Command off the coast of Norway. The Squadron converted to the Mustang Mk.IV in April 1945 while based at RAF Peterhead.

Relocating south to RAF Acklington on 13 May 1945, No. XIX (Fighter) Squadron exchanged their Mustangs for Spitfire Mk.XVIs. While at RAF Wittering in October 1946, No. 19 (F) Squadron converted to the de Havilland Hornet Mk.I which were operated until January 1951 when the Squadron received their first jet aircraft the Gloster Meteor F.4. These were soon exchanged for the Meteor F.8 in April 1951 which were flown until October 1956 when No. 19 (F) Squadron received the Hawker Hunter F.6. The Squadron moved to RAF Leconfield, Yorkshire in 1959 where they converted to the English Electric Lightning F.2 in November 1962.

On 31 December 1976, No. 19 (F) Squadron disbanded with the Lightning and reformed the next day at RAF Wildenrath further back west of the Rhine, with the McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 still in the air defence role. The Squadron operated for the first time out of newly introduced dispersed and Hardened Aircraft Shelters, including associated Nuclear, Biological and Chemical filtered operations rooms.

On 17 August 1990, No. XIX (F) Squadron was sent to RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus, in order to provide air defence for the island after Tornado F.3s from No. V (AC) Squadron and No. 29 (F) Squadron deployed from Akrotiri to Dhahran Airfield due to the Iraqi Invasion of Kuwait (ahead of Operation Granby) No. 19 (F) Squadron operated their Phantoms from here until 28 February 1991 when a ceasefire was called between the coalition forces and Iraq.

On 9 January 1992, the squadron disbanded as part of agreed post-Cold War force reductions and their aircraft were scrapped.

[414th][Casual-milsim][Beginner-friendly][All platforms][All regions]

The 414th Joint Fighter Group is a beginner-friendly organization for those that are looking to fly with others online with no-extra frills or fine print attached and no mandatory attendance required. We are open to all pilots, no matter their location in the world, gender, or age.

Our mission is to provide for the organization, training, operation, and deployment of effective and mission capable airframes and aircrews to the strike fighter squadrons we host.

Most of our pilots are in the US, with a couple located in EU. Flights are typically around 1700 PST through 2000 PST on the weekdays and 1600 PST through 2300 PST on the weekends. We hold our training sessions every Sunday, sometimes we opt for a session of our Liberation campaign. Our operations are held on a monthly basis and are designed to be challenging environments that test your thinking and capabilities as a pilot.

As a Group, we are home to different squadrons that have focus in a specific airframe, such as our squadron specializing in the F-16C, the 40th Tactical Fighter Squadron “Voodoos”.

We currently have openings for the following squadrons:

40th Tactical Fighter Squadron “Voodoos”: F-16C and JF-17
414th Tactical Fighter Squadron “Phantom Eagles”: F-15C and F-15E (upcoming)
414th Naval Operations Squadron: F/A-18C and F-14B

We welcome pilots and backseaters of all skill levels and platforms and are willing to teach those newer to DCS the in's and out's of their respective aircraft! We also welcome those who are seeking growth and leadership opportunities within our group. If you are not much of a DCS pilot, there are also other ways you can support us whether you enjoy making missions, creating liveries for our aircraft, or assuming AWACS/GCI/C2 responsibilities in our operations.

The 62nd Virtual Fighter Squadron welcomes all pilots looking for a squadron!

The 62nd is geared for those who would like be part of a squadron, but due to real life obligations, limited amounts of time to fly, busy work schedules, or family life, may not be able to join a squadron with a more specific focus or training requirements. We welcome DCS pilots of all skill levels on any aircraft, no matter how often you are able to fly. There's no commitment to join, nor any mandatory training in order to become a member of the 62nd. We offer a squadron for you to call home, meet and fly with fellow DCS pilots, and most of all, have fun!

Our squadron features a 24/7 private server on which to fly and is open to all wingmen and members of the 62nd VFS. We've also recently introduced squadron liveries for popular aircraft, available to all members.

We are mostly a U.S. based squadron, though we do have several members in Europe.

While we are not specifically a training squadron, several of our members have graciously stepped up and are willing to assist DCS pilots who are new to an aircraft or are learning tactics and advanced techniques. Twice a month we hold training sessions covering both combat and non-combat subjects.

As Commander of the 62nd VFS, I offer my invitation to join our squadron, with the invite link to our Discord server below. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to flying with you in the virtual skies!

DCS Tactical Recon Community

DCS Tactical Recon Community discord aims is to gather all virtual pilots interested in this special mission, to share dedicated scripts, multiplayer server to practice and discuss specific tactics as well as the real world of aerial reconnaissance by sharing documents, photos, stories, books, podcasts, websites, etc...

We mainly use the same script as on the Enigma Cold War server (whose creator we have with us) and try to adapt it to our use by emphasizing realism.

All people interested in aerial reconnaissance and its aircraft are welcome.

We are open to everyone and you can take what we share back to your squadrons easily.

If you are interested in aerial reconnaissance, if you already practice it on DCS or if you want to see how we do it, if you want to participate to the development of this mission in DCS or just use our work for your group, this is the place to be.

See you on our discord 😉 : https://discord.gg/5tM9Djdw9C

Carrier Air Wing 66

Currently enlisting: Tomcat pilots and rios, ATC controllers and mission makers.

66.png

About us:

Carrier Air Wing 66 is a DCS World PVE multiplayer group, centered on US Navy fighters and operations.

We are a small, but tight-knit community that emphasizes immersion, realism and teamwork over individual performance. We are primarily a PVE (Player vs. Environment) group that uses training, qualification and detailed missions to immerse ourselves into the atmosphere of modern jet combat and the mindset of a US Naval aviator. If you enjoy fast-paced action and racking up kills in PVP, this might NOT be the group for you. We are a mature and consistent group that focuses on learning, progression and having an inclusive and enthusiastic community.

We can be considered a ‘hard-core’ unit, in that we emphasize training, qualification and dedicated pilots that fly together over an extended period using realistic tactics, techniques and procedures.

We currently operate two (fictional) US Navy squadrons; VF-119 "Tridents", flying the F-14B Tomcat and VFA-166 "Maulers", flying the F/A-18C Hornet.

Schedule:

We strive to fly twice a week, on thursday and sunday, starting at 1930CE(S)T.

We operate a yearly schedule, consisting of training in the NTTR, then carrier (re)qualifications and finally a cruise (deployment on a carrier), where we play an extensive campaign consisting of cyclic operations and major strikes.

Recruitment:

At the moment we are looking for 2 Tomcat pilots (and/or RIO's). Our hornet squadron is fully manned at the moment.

BEFORE YOU CONSIDER APPLYING- MAKE SURE THAT YOU THIS DESCRIPTION IS FITTING FOR YOU:

1. You are a mature, casual dude, that enjoy 'serious fun' and learning together with like-minded pilots.

2. You own and actively fly the Heatblur F-14 Tomcat or ED's F/A-18 Hornet and can hold your own in all aspects of a mission (Navigation, communication, a2a refueling, BVR, WVR, A2G, Case I recovery).

3. You have been active with DCS for a good while and know that this is a lasting passion and hobby for you.

4. You can enjoy 'slow paced' gameplay, where the focus is learning together, rather than racking up kills in a PVP server.

5. You are European based (Due to ping and timezones) and speak English comfortably.

6. You own the NTTR, PG and Syria maps.

7. You have, or are willing to get Simple Radio (SRS) for inflight communications.

Lastly- REAL LIFE always comes first. If you can't join us for a mission, don't sweat it. Got a few busy weeks ahead? No problem.

Just let us know. However, we expect that you make an effort to be an active and contributing member, and that you realistically aim to join 3-4+ missions a month in general. If you join but end up not participating over the course of weeks you will be discharged.

If ALL of these points apply to you- feel free to join our Discord channel, read the welcome document and tell me a bit about yourself and your background, including DCS. Discord Channel

If you enjoy flying the Tomcat and Hornet together with like-minded people- you won't regret it!

I. Gruppe / Jagdgeschwader 7 „Nowotny“

We, the I. Gruppe / Jagdgeschwader 7 "Nowotny" are a virtual squadron primarily focused on air to air combat. Our members are aviation enthusiasts and some of us bring real life flying experience and professional expertise in various fields of aviation to the table.

How we roll: We love to share this unique hobby and all skills that come with it, hence our motto: Learn. Win. Keep Learning!

What we fly: Our primary focus is on the WW2 era but we do enjoy all aspects of flight simulation and particularly the DCS universe. Thus, you will also find us in modern cockpits or taking on the challenge of flying rotary wings. When we fly WW2, we do put emphasis on the Axis side but not exclusively.

Our competence: To our members we offer a broad spectrum of possibilities to grow as a virtual and real life pilot. We take pride in our team play and endorse tactical behaviour that is driven by a strong team spirit. Hence, we assist our members in their personal journey by offering comprehensive and advanced training courses that pave the way to becoming a recognisable "Ace" in the virtual skies.

For those enjoying the role play character of historic combat flight simulation we offer several career modes of different difficulties including historical awards and rank systems.

So, who are we looking for? Virtual pilots that share our passion and enthusiasm for aviation and flight simulation who seek an immersive and realistic combat flying experience and who are looking for opportunities to improve their individual skills as well as collective improvement with our group.

Are you up for the task? Then, please, pay us a visit and get in touch. We usually don't bite 😉

What we are:

We are group of veteran DCS Pilots who have been a force within the DCS Community for over 10 years.

Combined, we have had the joy of being a part of some of the most well-known groups within DCS over the years and have helped to support and grow the community.

The Wildcats break away from the norms of DCS in the form of becoming a Private Military Contractor or PMC.  We’ve done way with the standard Wing or Group and squadron configuration that you see everywhere within DCS.  We strive to set a different standard!  We are the only ''Authorized NATO based Private Military Contractor (PMC)" *A little role playing there* within the DCS community.

We specialize in Air and Air to Ground Combat through the recruitment, training and retention of veteran DCS World players.  Our goals are to effectively prosecute any objective as a structured, organized and controlled group to include Land, Sea and Air Assets and set a specific, achievable standard in flight, ground operations, controlling and mission making and design.

The Wildcats has always been a group based on fun while learning.  While we strive for a sense of realism, we also like to keep the learning environment fun.  We are what you would consider casual mil-sim.  In that vein, we have set ourselves not only as a PMC, but we are also modeled after the old Strike Commander video game from the 90’s.  As a PMC, we have the freedom to run as we wish, without being tied down to specific regulations or a pre-defined way of doing things.  As it is, we all pretend to be pilots (most of us, some are actual real pilots) when we strap on an aircraft, there is nothing wrong with some role play as well when it comes to the overall group.  We are hoping there is an interest in this and have firmly planted our feet in this direction.  Yes, it's different, but shouldn't your flight time be spent having more ''fun'' instead of flying the same echelon right formation again for the umpteenth time in training?  We thought so as well...

What does that mean to you?  It means you can fly just about any aircraft you wish to fly assuming you are at least familiar with it and its systems.  It means you will have a wealth of varied mission types both fun and challenging.  You’ll be a part of a much larger campaign based on various story line missions along with the normal, everyday types of missions and campaigns you are used to seeing.  You’ll be a part of regularly recorded video’s showcasing these missions and campaigns and you’ll grow to be one of the best, well rounded DCS Pilots in the community.

What we are looking for:

Currently, we are rebuilding our structure, brand and base.  We are looking for like minded pilots familiar with their preferred air frame.  You will need to know the basics of your aircraft; take off's, landings, patterns (or CV procedures if applicable), your aircraft systems and its weapons along with formation flying (to an extent) and refueling.  As long as you know the basics, we can help you hone those skills into something better, something that makes you part of a larger group.

Pilots:  Those familiar with their air frames and can complete basic assigned tasks in them along with committing to the format and atmosphere we are trying to create.

CO/XO:  Those not only familiar with their aircraft but also considered experts in them.  Those willing to teach others how to become better at what they do.  Mentors willing to take time away from their own flight time to help others become successful.  Leaders who are on board with the CAG version of what the group's overall vision is, without question and will help carry that vision forward.  This is an interviewed position within the group for obvious reasons.

Map Makers:  Those familiar with generating missions on various maps using or not using scripting.  Those familiar with Combat Flight and can incorporate that into their mission ideas.  This is also an interviewed position in the group.

Skinners:  Those familiar with the DCS file structure and how it relates to skins.  Capable of working through ideas with others to complete skin projects in a timely fashion and to everyone's satisfaction.  This is also an interviewed position in the group.

Flight Leads/Trainers:  Similar to the CO and XO positions, FL's and Trainers will help CO's and XO's train squadrons in a given air frame based around already pre-determined training plans for the group as a whole.  Step by step instruction for each pilot wishing to become a Wildcat.  This is also an interviewed position within the group.

In-Game Videographers:  As the title suggests, individuals familiar with capturing video in the sim and compiling that into awesome videos!  Also, an interviewed position within the group.

The above listed positions within the group are the basis for a strong foundation.  These folks will form the core of the unit overall.  Other spots may open up from time to time and will be interviewed positions as well.  The overall need is a basic knowledge in these areas along with a dedicated understanding and commitment to what the overall group vision is.

What you can expect:

Support for every major aircraft Module on the market

Support for OFOR Pilots

Support for Combined Arms players

Several 24/7 servers with varied maps with tons to do

World War 2 aircraft and mission support (quarterly)

Vietnam Era aircraft and mission support (quarterly)

Full Discord and/or Guilded Support

Flight Calendars to plan your flights in advance

Veteran Pilots to help you become more knowledgeable and even to learn new aircraft

Full online support to include SRS and other multiplayer functionality

A fun, stress free learning environment that is not tied down to the current standards you see in most ‘’mil sim’’ type groups.

If you are looking for something different and this is something that you might be interested in, or think you can find a place to fit in and help out, please come by our Discord here ( https://discord.gg/E2GVufR3am ) or by our Guilded (our main online presence) here:  https://www.guilded.gg/i/k5a07qQk  and we will be more than happy to discuss your future in DCS with the Wildcats and answer any and all questions you may have.

Good luck in whatever you do in DCS!  We hope to hear from you soon!  Have fun!
