Hi Chic, actually have added to the list at home as new names appear. I was going to post a new list every 2 weeks or so rather than every time a few new names appear. If you want to take it over that's fine but I would suggest you keep it in an alphabetical order so you don't risk duplication (it's easier to keep track who is already on it) you then have to realign the number sequence to suit and make sure you don't miss a number out like 87 :-)

Just to re-confirm (given the time from my original statement), I very much still want to get this product. I think it'll be a real game changer.

Miles, will you be able to implement haptic feedback? Maybe some small pads at the index fingers that give some indication that you are in fact touching a button/switch/control?

Hey All,

I am still waiting on the HMS sensors to be delivered, meanwhile software development continues with mostly tweaks for user options, and preparation for production. I am not totally satisfied with the pointer resolution with the new wide angle optics. Bottom line is only about one third of the sensors FOV is being utilized. I have been sourcing interchangeable lenses for VR and conventional monitor use. Its not a complicated issue, I just need to integrate a slight magnification lens for optimal cursor resolution.

@ Marine3302, I actually had a haptic sensor on one of the first prototypes that used a gyro and accelerometers to sense a finger movement like a flick of a switch. The sensor would quickly vibrate for a second to confirm the finger flick. I found the button banks a much better solution with their tactile and positive control. Since I am using transceivers, I have considered haptic feed back for game events, guns, bomb release ext.

The hardware is locked in for now but I am sure I will be adding features in the future. I have the bare minimum of my new pit area completed enough to throw up another video tonight.

Very cool, thanks Miles! Was just a thought. It will sure be nice not having to move my head so much to throw switches or push buttons.

I couldn't agree more!

I am so looking forward to having a more integrated cockpit experience that doesn't involve my head and neck contorting into positions they really weren't designed to go in, while trying to move my cursor to hover over a control and then click it before seizing the joystick again to regain control of my aircraft!

All that along with not having to juggle a touch controller on my lap and having an extra mouse hanging just out of reach to the side of my throttle, 2019 is shaping up to be a great year!!!

All the best with this Miles, but please make sure you take some time off so you can enjoy your Xmas. (From a purely selfless point of view I know, as I don't want you getting burned out!!! )

Wow! That is looking absolutely amazing! (and exactly what I have been missing since I started using DCS with VR!!!)

Really good to hear that you have sorted out the calibration aspect of this as well. A very solid piece of design work and a genuinely innovative product you have there.

Very impressed!

Update: I started designing the enclosures this morning. I hope to fire up the 3d printer this afternoon and print out some test units. Next up is CNC milling of the thermo-forming molds for production units.

@ FoxDelta, Here is a pic of the first go at the FCU enclosure.

@MemphisBelle, I have secured the domain name pointctrl.com. My son got busy, so It looks like I have to add the web site to my list as well. You will be able to purchase PointCTRL right on the website.

@ Ratcatcher, Thanks for your concern, but this is more of a hobby than work for me, so no chance of getting burnt out. Although I don't think I've played DCS online with the 99th in months, and I really do miss it.

Good to hear Miles!

That looks a nice straightforward design.

A quick question, apologies if already answered, but while watching the latest vid I wondered about if you can set a dead zone to smooth out any "wobble" with your finger when you have your arm outstretched?
