OpenHornet's F/A-18C Pedal Release for MFG Crosswinds

Recommended Posts

Hey all! Just wanted to push these out where more people might see them. Here is the release of our pedals for the MFG Crosswinds. It's about a 15 hour print per pedal. Hope you guys enjoy them - they install on your Crosswinds pedals with your stock pedal HW. Printed .20 layer height at 30% infil. They are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

These look great, thanks a lot for sharing!

For someone without access to a 3D printer, are there any online services (Shapeways comes up on Google) that you'd recommend? Anything I'd have to keep in mind in terms of configuration/material?

Thanks!

I wouldn't bother with shapeways. Even after taking out most of the mass in blender, the price for a shapeways print was still over $450 per pedal.

Can you tell us anymore about the print settings? Speeds? Infil type? Number of walls? Number of top and bottom layers?

Everything else was default on the Prusa i3 MK3.

Errr, the printer doesn't matter, settings are set in the slicer software.

For reference, at 0.2mm layer height with 3 walls on a 0.4mm nozzle, 3 top and bottom layers, 30% grid infil, printed at 60mm/s (a common fast speed), it still takes over 20 hours to print.

Looks like you took a bit of inspiration from my pedal solution. :D

Btw I made them adjustable for two widths depending on personal choice. The wider one fits flush with the pedal side. I made the screws go in from the back, that looks a bit neater.

That's a nice pedal - never seen that before. We did them based on the real F/A-18C pedals, and they are designed to fit into the footwells of the OpenHornet cockpit.
