DDS converter

sorry for my ignorance but.... whats a dds? and png is a picture file right?

Graphic files for Lock on are compressed and turned in to mipmaps and stores in DDS format and stored in CDDS folders .

So when someone makes a new skin for a F-15.you can just throw it in to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Bazar\TempTextures . The problem with this is two fold. One if you don’t convert the skin will pop off of your aircraft when you move away from it with the camera. You may get lag problems for formation flying if the files are not put into the CDDS folders.

Your using more memory for the skin processing I may be wrong but this is how I understand if from reading other threads here.

What DDS format should I use? DTXc1, DTXa1, DTX3 or DTX5? Lo uses DTX1 and DTX5, but what should I choose from A and C variant of DTX1? Or is it the same?

to install in to the CDDS you need TEKA TEKA's mod for MODMAN or LOMAN 2.1

No, it just installs the file in ...Bazar/Temp Textures in regular format (.bmp or .tga)

Yes it work you have to have the right naming it just converts the file to a dds and it will convert the tgas to other files formats. The converter doesnot install in to lockon if you get Teka's modes you can install in to the CDDS

Look Dude I have been installing files in to the CDDS for a wile in to 1.12 send me the files and I will make up the pack so you can see or what do you want? It work as a converter not an instilation tool. But for you to install the pack you will still need to modif LOman2.1 to work with 1.12a or modify Modman to install into the CDDS http://bvr.jpn.org/lockon/index_e.html
