multi screen set-up for lock on

Guys what you need is either the

-functionality of the Wideview software for FlightSimulator series. Basically a network of computers works on separate protion of your FOV be it 90°, 130°, 180° or more.

This is not supported by the Lockon engine at the moment.

Perhaps some ED devs can say more about its prospects for Lockon..

(If possible we can collect some money to 3rd party developer to

code it for us)

- Another option is to have software-addon which would compute cubic or cylindrical projection. This works by simply exporting simultaneously several views and merging them into either cubical or cylindrical projection for only one DLP or diy projector and cheap mylar mirror (no special lense needed). This works with many OpenGL games like UT and probably could be implemented in DirectX as well..

That gives you fantastic immersion for small buck but again not supported by the ED engine at the moment..

you can dig deep in Bourke's site he has got all the formulas and code ready:

http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/projection/uprightdome/

- the easiest way is to project a cylindrical projection for instance from diy 16:10 projector and warp the image either in software or by the mylar mirror itself it can be all relatively easily calculated.

Very cool setups.

Now, who will be the first to disassamble 3 LCD screens and put them in one single modded frame without the two middle portions?:smartass:

Obviously it would be bye bye waranty :D.

I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A,

Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least

zaelu,

i think that has been done, i saw it somewhere, no bezels between the screens.

mike cinch perry,

here's my current configuration with the th2go, this might be the answer for you.

can u elaborate on your setup, is it all running from one pc (seperate laptop obviously).

i tried this out, agp + pci videocards etc but had little success.

the th2go is perfect for 3 screens, what do you usually use the top one for?

fufunka,

that guys site is awesome, he has some seriously good ideas, i did a bit of digging as you suggested and the more you look at it the more it makes perfect sense.

the basic theory of distorting the projected image to then be in perspective on the dome is wonderful, i wonder how much is involved to have a program run in the background that does this independantly of the game running, that way lockon or any other title for that matter would be none the wiser.

here you go ggg87!

ggg87,

My setup is off one system AMD64 3400+ 2.4 2 gigs of ram, Pny 6800Gt AGP, Creative Fatal1ty Xfi Sound card. 2 21" Gateway LCD Mon Native res 1680x1050, 1 22" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070sb Max rez 2048x 1536. I use this computer for web development, Photoshop, Vegas, but also fly lockon and rfactor on it.

Could you explain how youhave yours set up, Dont you have to have 3 of the same monitors or have them set to the same rez to work with the device you have? also if you could point me to a link of the product you have!!

Thanks

cinch, if we may call you that?

a man after my own heart, lockon and rfactor :)

looking forward to v8factor soon to be released

my pc is much the same as yours:

a64 3400 @2.4, 1gig xlpro, 6800ultra 256. (must get that extra gig)

the th2go is a triplehead2go from matrox,

it sees the 3 lcd's as one 3840x1024,

and yes you do need to run all 3 monitors at the same res.

see here:

http://www.matrox.com/mga/offhome/th2go/home.cfm

after looking at your specs i am still unsure as to how you run that third screen?
