Warum gibt es eigentlich keine d version ? Hast du eine Quelle für die Außerdienststellung der B- (und A-) Tomcat in 2002? Weil ich dachte die wären noch länger geflogen? Ich weiß zwar leider nicht wann die A/B außer Dienst gestellt wurden, aber ich weiß das sowohl die A als auch die B noch 2002 in Afghanistan im Kampfeinsatz waren. Zur D-Tomcat: Die D-Version hat ein ganz anderes und viel moderneres Cockpit. Ob da nun Geheimhaltung der Avionik, die Komplexität beim Programmieren, oder einfach persönliche Vorlieben der Entwickler (und/oder Fans?) für die Entscheidung zugunsten der A/B gesorgt haben weiß nur Heatblur. Das gleiche gilt auch für die D-Version der Viggen. Aus jeder Ära gibt's ja entsprechende Muster, die ab und zu bei Airshows zu sehen sind und ich kann mir schwerlich vorstellen, dass so ein Unikum wie die Tomcat komplett in der musealen Versenkung verschwindet. In den iranischen Luftstreitkräften steht sie nach wie vor im aktiven Dienst. Bisland wurde die Tomcat lediglich bei der US Navy außer Dienst gestellt. In den USA gibt es meines Wissens nach auch kein flugfähiges Exemplar mehr.
