I'm not a backer. I wanted to see what it was about, or is it too late to become one?

 

Too late by about 3 years.

 

EDIT: Here is the kickstarter page that started all of this WWII stuff (except the P-51, which already existed).

Thats a good question and in my opinion even through ED didn't start the Backers Program they took it over and also everything that go's with it. What we don't know and ED will not tell us is what exactly did they get out of this? My friends that's why I say 3+ years and still waiting. ED is doing and outstanding job, but just not on the items owe to the people who back the backers program. TC

Which version do I need 1.5 or 2?

 

I am asking because they say 2.0 in the title and 1.5 on the bottom of the page

You will only need the 2.0 varsion. Actualy i have the early alpha normandy version wich is called 2.1 version.When the normandy map will be in late may released it will be merged with the 2.0 version to build the 2.1 version. This is not possible with the 1.5.:smilewink::smilewink:

that the kickstarter was 158 897 $ / 100 000 $

 

and this :

$275,000 level ( not reached )

 

Everything at the previous level, plus:

Normandy map extended to include Southern England

 

You'll have even more than promise. ;-) ...thanks to ED

Actually, you need to read the part at the bottom more closely.

 

If the product description does not have information about which DCS World version you should install, you only need to have the "Stable" version DCS World 1.5 installed on your PC.

 

The text at the top, which indicates v2 overrides what is at the bottom, based on this sentence.

Wait a minute! The Normandy map won't work with 1.5? I have to have 2.0 which requires me to buy the Nevada map which i'd never buy. I hate desert terrain with a passion. That's why I live in the mountains.

 

This is going to make a big difference on what plane I fly from now on. I refuse to pay $50 for the Nevada map that i'll never use.

You have it a little bit wrong. DCS World v2.0 requires the purchase of a terrain module but it does not matter which one, Nevada or Normandy. You don't have to buy Nevada, once Normandy is out, to use v2.0.

That is the current plan, although I would imagine the Open Alpha version will vanish and we will get a v2.5 Open Beta version instead.
