All touchscreen?

L'importante non è stabilire se uno ha paura o meno, è saper convivere con la propria paura e non farsi condizionare dalla stessa. Ecco, il coraggio è questo, altrimenti non è più coraggio ma incoscienza.

Airdog, that's pretty damn cool. Great setup!

DEChengst: Yes, but it only did it *once*. :D

All joking aside, the pilot lost his life in a similar accident in an F-16 for the same reason - Overcome By Events. Basically, the aircraft got ahead of him and he never caught up in time. I was able to get the "releasable" portion of the accident report for '007 and there was _nothing_ mechanically wrong with that bird, other than maybe a lingering "seafood" smell. :) (Way OT: Did you know that running a VAX 8250 with four RA81 drives can make your whole house vibrate? :D) )

Here's a video I did last week on the board I'm going to be using to drive the MCP and other incandescent displays:

Has anyone else on this forum been working on an F-15 cockpit?

Oh, there's actually TWO of us now. A friend of mine got his hands on the cockpit section (with canopy!) of an A model that was living at Seymour-Johnson AFB for years being used as an ABDR trainer.

avlolga, your best bet is to hit http://www.arduino.cc and find a local supplier and get one. It's basically a tiny little board based on the ATMega328 microcontroller. You talk to it via a built-in USB serial interface. I've seen various Arduino compatible setups for as little as $12. The Centipede Shield (add-on boards for the Arduino are called "shields". They stack on top of the Arudino board itself) is available from Macetech - http://www.macetech.com

avlolga,

The LCD Display boards you bought from me are arduino boards at heart. It's running the arduino boot loader and the firmware is developed using the arduino libraries. It is basically a arduino plus shield in one board to control the LCD screen, have 22 digital inputs and 1 analog input plus the backlighting channel.

This is very similar to the setup I am working on now. Are you using Helios? Would you mind sharing your monitor setup LUA file ? I would love to see how you get all this to display across the screens in the file. Two video cards for these four screens, yes? How is FPS after the side-panels were added?

Thanks! Great looking pit!

Yes I am using Helios. My FPS is always 25 or better which is acceptable in my eyes.

Thank you!! That seems pretty straightforward.. For some reason I thought the side panels would be tougher to work in.

Did you buid your own Helios profiles or using one of Gadroc's or the Loz profile for all your panels?

My profile is a Frankenstein version. Little bit of Gadrocs, Loz and some of my own touches to it. I'm sure I used textures from other peoples profiles also. I made mods to get the CDU to be transparent in the right spots because i'm exporting that data rather than using the CDU repeater that comes in Helios. Like I said its frakenstein...i could'nt even begin to tell you what came from what though.
