boedha68
But the existing Reverb is 2 x 4k. 2 x 2160 x 2160. What are you expecting in G2? This.... 2 lenses times 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD) hopefully Amoled screens...i enjoyed the rift for this in the first days of VR. Framerate go from 70 FPS to 45 FPS but, In november i take the MSI RTX 3080 TI so 90 FPS is the goal. GunSlingerAUS
T In november i take the MSI RTX 3080 TI so 90 FPS is the goal. I saved money for it! :D Given that we need a 100% performance increase to power the current Reverb at a minimum of 90fps (on the proviso that our CPUs aren't holding us back, which they likely are), and most major new GPU architectures deliver around 20 to 30% better performance than their predecessors (ie 2080 Ti vs 1080 Ti), I think we'll be waiting for the RTX 5080 Ti some time in 2025 before we can get 90fps in the Reverb Pro. And if you're thinking the move to Vulkan will deliver that performance increase, I'd like some of what you're smoking :pilotfly: Are we sure we want the G2 to have twice the resolution? I personally would prefer a better set of lenses for wider FOV and sweet-spot. BMGZ06
No FOV increase :noexpression: I'm a little disappointed I must say and a missed chance imo Anything said or written yet on the sweet spot compared to the G1 Reverb? It was obvious from the fact that it is no larger that the FOV was still going to be the same. Reading about wider FOV and pixel per degree then you give up a lot of PPD for FOV. The GPU power is not currently there to drive a human or near human FOV with super sharp res like the Reverb has. The manual IPD though is going to allow more people to get the actual FOV of 114 without seeing the black boarders. I see them because my IPD is 67 so I see boarders a lot but I like the sharpness. The new G2 will have overall more clarity and sharpness as well due to new lenses and they are kicking up the brightness as well which will be great for night missions. Less mura is going to really add more immersion as well.
