Man, that video with the F-15 zooming about -- unbelievable. The detailed scaling capabilities of the EDGE engine displayed here with the NTTR map, showing off low to high alt scaling of textures and 3D objects, is simply stunning. And it's doing that transitioning and scaling wonderfully smooth as well. Wow.

This is the first time a simulated environment had my disbelief suspended. If watching this felt real, how will finally flying it be? :)

Thanks for the comments guys. The site is just standing up on its own legs..so apologies if anything is out of order. We worked hard to try to get a layout that works across multiple platforms (PC, iPad, mobile), but you never know what might crop up that we didn't spot.

Thanks to Wags for providing us that awesome video. When I was watching it for the first time last night..and the music started, I was like..oh wow..! Went full screen, turned up the sound..and just reveled in that. The whole time I was, of course, thinking how awesome that airbase is going to look with a whole bunch of MP clients playing on it..going off on Red Flag missions. Holy cow it's gonna be cool. And yes, I looked longingly at those Hornets on the ramp <g>.

There is zero chance the site would exist without their help and burning a LOT of midnight oil the past week. They are the greatest to work with. And dat video... holy hell! Never seen anything like it in a flight sim before. Such clean and crisp graphics, and the amazing level of detail from ground level up to the stratosphere... rendered me speechless.

I'm usually keeping my distance from the "zomg so awesum pls ed release it nao!!!!11eleventy!!!!" crowd, but seriously, how much longer do you expect me to endure the waiting after seeing THIS?!

For the sake of my mental health, I will pretend that I've never read the "hopefully first half of 2015" part.

Video shows being able to do at least 10 minutes of non combat flight , no apparent graphic issues and performance looked smooth as butter (all while Wags was recording this)

Gawd you guys gotta rain on everyones parade when we get new cool updates/vids/info with all the negative Nancy stuff... seriously... ugh.

Well im with him, and im not the only one. It is a bit annoying to get estimates over and over again that never holds up even close, because you get exited about it and look forward to the next 6 months time - and you cannot help it even if you try not to make any deal about those poor estimates.

I would rather not hear anything about releases until they are absolutely sure.

But cool video. Looks good nevertheless.

Which is too bad. I know things get delayed, although you have to wonder why they announced the Straits map to be released in late 2014 some months back. They are only ~60% done with the artwork and it doesn't look like they started on the other aspects like AI navigation for the map. Did they really think they would have been able to complete it in a span of 4-5 months back then?

Going from releasing in a few months to pre-alpha over half a year later is a bit of a stretch even for a release date estimate.
