I thought both "FOTI" and "The Intruders" were both great books. They did right by Coonts on the movie for "FOTI".

As for Fire irds, of course It's cheesy, but good luck finding another Apache porno. Plus Tommy Lee Jones is his usual funny self.

admittedly this scene was hilarious:

I think this scenes may sometimes play in anyone's mind when the get a good Kill/Death ratio ( or killstreak rather) :D

Underrated comment is underrated, HAVE SOME REP!

Bat 21 was (and still IS) totally amazing!

EDIT: Odd, it says I can't give rep to that post... :( Sry.

Does anyone know what variant of the A-6 razbam is Workin on? I would Like to Work on the EA-6B Prowler so im just making sure if other teams are working on it ?

I love the Prowler and i have gotten the Flight Manual and other important documentation to Work on it .

The prowler EW systems are classified very heavily, so I doubt any business could sell a high fidelity model with working, accurate systems legitimately without answering a lot of difficult questions. Also, ECM and ECCM are not modelled very heavily in DCS (really it comes to down to Jammer on/off).

That being said, if you can take electronic ware fare and jamming to the next level in this sim, and do put it without breaching copyright, I suspect our have a hell of a lot of buyers...

i did not know, that we get an a-6. that's awesome. it's probably my favorite aircraft.

the only thing, i'm concerned about, is the multi-crew-aspect in case you want/need to fly with AI instead of a human.

with other multi-crew aircraft in the works, i really hope, that eagle dynamics builts a framework for multi-crew AI and AI-communication.

not, that i wouldn't trust razbam in building decent AI-interaction themselves, but i think it would at least be beneficial if the baisc interaction with AI would be somewhat consistent with all modules. also a shared framework would mean, that more rescources could be put into it, maybe enabling things like voice recognition for multi-crew-AI.

If there's a ball then it'll be an E. makes sense given the era.

Ok Nice, i wanted to be Sure what VAriant they were Working on or had Planned,Because i am gathering Information and Getting Ready to Work on the EA-6B Prowler,so far i have gotten the Flight manual which it is superb and the charasteristics and there's a Few Location near where i live that Have Prowlers On display so i can go over and Get a closer look and get beter Intel,HArd part is going to be Getting clearance From the Commanding Officer Department/Naval Air technical data along other places,But i will try and see how close we can get its systems.

I would very surprised if the EW stations and their functions were able to be disclosed. USN hasn't, to my knowledge anyway, released any electronic warfare documentation from about Vietnam era onwards

You'd be surprised, while the exact operations of displays and effectivity of ew are classified switch operation can be found or reasonably guessed.

The P&WJ52's distinctive howl is a must for any A6 modeled in DCS.

I always knew it was an A6 that just trapped or is launching, without looking, just from that sound of the engines. I know aircraft all sound different, but if you were ever to hear an A6, you'd get my meaning. There is no other sound like the A6.

Also, ECM and ECCM are not modelled very heavily in DCS (really it comes to down to Jammer on/off).

That is the thing what is problem in the DCS currently. Our loving combat simulation is almost moot point as everything seems to be played with simple multipliers and circles.

Radar has a detection range and lock range. If you fly inside detection, then you get spotted and your RWR says so. And if you fly inside lock, you get shot at and likely your RWR can spot and say so. If you have a ECM, then it is just a multiplier of 0.x to the ranges above mentioned, as well it is now a constant ping in the sky for other radars to see the direction.

If someone pop-up chaff, it is again just a small modifier with a random generation to check if radar seeking missile is seeing it and if it would lock to it instead the original target. Chaff and Flare operating in same manner and more you pop-up, more changes you have that random generation rolls the magic dice number that says to missile "Fly toward me!".

That being said, if you can take electronic ware fare and jamming to the next level in this sim, and do put it without breaching copyright, I suspect our have a hell of a lot of buyers...

Should really be possible.

1) Considering how simple our combat is because simple radars and such. There is not much secrets in those systems or simulations.

2) We know how in the principle the systems should work, so someone could just go and do something far more fancier than the simple system we have already now just by doing things in clean room method and via educated guesses.

So far even the current chaff/flare systems with the ECM and IRjammer etc is "enough" for most of us, so how about just continue using the same simple manner and do something for same things? All the datalinks, radar systems, counter measurements etc could be "simulated" far more deeply without knowing anything about them than what a wikipedia is telling. And that way make far more difficult and deeper DCS for combat part.

Everyone who would be screaming "If it ain't realistically simulated, don't do it at all" could just go and drop flying whole DCS at once as there is nothing realistic simulations really in the combat at the moment than what few fancy multipliers are doing for binary game (detected or not).

You do make a point its all a matter of good coding and making systems respond a bit better, i dont really know what dcs world engine is capable of for i dont have SDK access,But i will DO my best to complete the cockpit and external model of the EA-6B Prowler and the EFM,its going to take time for i am just starting to Deal with EFM and learning C++ in general to accomplish this, i like TEst flying and making Flight models and also modeling so i do have the time to do this all by my self and with the support of this community Input.

I have access to a Prowler guy with +2K hours in the jet. PM if you want me to ask him about anything, I'll have to see if he's open to disclosing information though (obviously not classified stuff).

Missing this good old queen in the skies AND in the hangar.. dominated a complete era.. any plans to bring her to DCS ?

Belsimtek is making one, not the topic of this discussion though.
