Hi

We have been very busy and the updates have been coming fast, but open beta is our public test version, which is used for this purpose.

If you would like less frequent updates but larger ones the stable version is probably the best option.

We hope to have news soon about the stable version update, when we do we will post it in our newsletter and change log.

Thank you.

Well; if ED would hurry up with the Datacard ability so I can have my hornet countermeasures set up properly every time, I wouldn’t need to use the one mod I do use... ;-)

Any news on that BigNewy, it looked fairly well defined when it was teased in Springtime, down to the UI being done...?

When updating, the Mods that are installed on /Saved Games/ (which are the majority) are of no concern.

Only the Mods that go onto the /Eagle Dynamics/ folder need to be deactivated prior to an Update ... and for that job there exist Mod Managers, that can deactivate all Mods on a few seconds ... and reactivate them after the Update is done.

For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra

For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600X - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia GTX1070ti - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar - Oculus Rift CV1

Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Recommend OvGME or JSGME. I think OvGME is available from Hoggitworld. Both apps do the same thing and will make dealing with updates tons easier.

^^^^ THIS ^^^^

DCS installer doesn't touch the SavedGames/ path, so most mods can and should live in there.

Yeah this is the best advice. I flew offline mostly for a decent time and used stable, which was updated maybe once a month. I used mods etc. Now I fly online mostly and beta is where it’s at, and use no mods at all.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

It's the way it is because people complained about infrequent updates.

Also, as others said, this is a user error issue. Decline updates if you don't want them or alternatively use a mod manager and/or learn how to use the saved games method properly (this is specifically why that stuff is there, in your user directory)
