Just a quick bump.

Did some measurements and had a quick look around and found that if you just want a monitor behind them and are not interested in a realistic layout, a single 11.6 widescreen is almost an exact fit (just a few mm too tall in the vertical) for two MFDs side by side and you can get 1080P IPS panels for about $100.

Yes they are working screens. They are not USB however, they are regular LCD screens. Though USB ones could have been emplyed certainly, but not this clean/lean of a housing design I think. There is a wire that comes out the bottom and attaches to the controller board which where it gets powered and connected to PC from. I am extending the harness wire that goes from the controller board to the screen to keep it clean. The housing is one I designed and printed with a 3d printer. A couple final minor tweaks and design will be final. I made some other mounts that are for the MFD's without screens added as well.

Again, going to VR has made functional MFD screens not as much of a priority any more sadly. Just the stock TM Cougar MFD frames meet my needs now with my adapters for them.

Torso - could you please share the design for the housing you've mentioned above (if you've finalized it of course)?

That's fantastic! Where'd you get them from and how are they powered? USB?

Ok, so these are what I'm using. 6.5" High brightness LCDs. They are pretty awesome behind the Cougar MFDs. A little on the pricey side but so well worth it, especially for my pit. I have an F-16 viper pit because I love the F-16 cockpit but I also have it set for Falcon BMS. However, since I discovered DCS A-10C, it's all i play.

Here's where I got the panels.

https://earthlcd.com/products/lcd-kits/xlk-12-1-m1-front-gif-6-5-color-tft-lcd-kit-600-nits-high-bright/

I did a demo video of my setup, so you can see it working here.

Still tweaking it with controls but for the most part, am pretty happy with it. the video is a 1080ti piping out to 3 - 55" 4K Vizio monitors so 12K video spanning 12feet.

The MFDs are running on a separate video card (1080)

I use them without any screens behind them, and they are still great to have.

Any chance to place a 4:3 flat Screen behind them?

[...]Still use the MFD's for tactile use of course in VR.

A few pics of my custom designed mounts for them.

...

Thats interesting, how are you making sure to hit the correct button as you cant see your Hand through the VR Headset?

Really?? I was just about to buy the 2x MFD pack from TM and I hesitated due to the lack of monitors. So is it really useful? I might give it a shot.

Yes, even without the screens I find them very helpful. With screens would be awesome... one day...

Nice setup DqP! All the pixels.

I'm impressed you're getting a usable frame rate with triple 4K displays, what are the guts in the rest of your rig?

I'm Running an Alienware Area 51 - Intel Core i7-6800k with 64Gb mem, dual (non SLI) Nvidia 1080Ti and 1080 FE. If I run the machine clean with just DCS, TrackIR, etc...stuff needed for sim, the system is flawless. If I have a bunch of other stuff open like browsers stuff, I might get a slight hiccup at the start but completely smooth after. The only problem I really had was power supply issue. I had previously ran everything on an ASUS ROG G-20 (about 420watt PS) and the system would just shut down.

I moved it to the Alienware and it's been pretty flawless since.

I used a sheet of plexiglass cut to size to cover the face of my monitor and then use Velcro tabs to hold the TM MFD's inplace:thumbup:on the plexi. works great:megalol:
