FIXED

If you are updating 1.2.3 (or any previous version) to 1.2.4.11855 and still have the 404 problem, please, post in this thread.

'File not found' problem is fixed as well: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=105779

May happen when you update to 1.2.4 from 1.2.3.9871.38 or earlier versions.

The 4-step solution:

0. Make sure you get a 404 error

1. Replace the contents of your C:\Users\<YOUR LOGIN>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\autoupdate.settings file with:

{
 "update_period": 1,
 "last_update": 0,
 "update_to": "release"
}

2. Update (it will work)

3. DELETE the autoupdate.settings file.

Thanks to SlobbishBody for testing.

Mods, please stick it. Thanks!

To save us some time, if we verify that we currently have 1.2.3.9871.38 or earlier versions should we just go ahead and make this change prior to auto-update instead of downloading the update twice?

No. It won't download the update twice.

The update to 1.2.4 is 2-stage:

1. it replaces the updater only

2. New updater installs the update

2nd stage fails (I'm currently investigating, why).

The solution keeps the 2nd stage from failing, it will not work without completing the 1st one.

I than try to auto update via DCS World SP an get the following error...note the installs i have I saved to memory stick months ago an are @ same version as the DCS World version I'm trying to update so i can install the Huey.

check("C:\Call911\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\b5\b5c01c70ef247a2e649c84ba2034d7e6106c2a24c07368f256a8b27534edd"):(3)The system cannot find the specified path.

Edit..Should I just update World first than install everything after?

Somehow, the file was deleted after the download and right before the application of the update.

Did you have an antivirus running?

I have the same problem. I haven't updated in forever. Is there a way to force the update and disregard anything thats in the temp directory?

I can't seem to get it stop looking in that directory for a file that no longer exists.

It's where the updater saves downloaded files. The update is not possible without it, obviously.

Still can't update...

I still have a problem running "Update DCS World"

I get the following error after attempting to update:

check("C:\Users\Brian\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\e6\e662fad3a21638d81db56899d9646fcccec4d86d8dc1dc3836a7625126c0801da"): (3) The system cannot find the file specified.

If I look in my AppData\Local\Temp\DCS directory there is a new directory called called ab with a single 3KB file called abd73d7e36db38c6b9f0c928e3d57fc9dbd52e30ab674860239459da53d49691, but no e6 directory.

1. Deleting this directory and starting again did not fix anything.

2. Deleting/renaming C:\Users\Brian\Saved Games\DCS\autoupdate.cache caused the update to slow down when validating local files, but still generates the same error message.

I'm running 1.2.1.6288.

Works like a charm! Even if you don't get errors, but game just doesn't update (it's hidden 404). Thank you.

Note: If it fails saying "Interrupted by User" or something like that - just repeat the process.

The issue with updates from 1.2.1 needs some research. I'll be back in a couple of days with more info.

In the meanwhile, torrents and installers are the option.

Or just give your 1.2.1 some more love.

If you are updating 1.2.3 (or any previous version) to 1.2.4.11855 and still have this problem, please, post here.

Hello, I have been unable to update to 1.2.4 version of DCS. Any time I try loading the game, it says there is a new version available and when I accept options to update, I get " (modules/a-A10c/filelist.json'): file not found error.

My current version is 1.2.3.10201.

Is there any way of getting by this problem?. I need help on how to resolve this problem. Thanks in advance
