News footage showed a chunk of the empennage in a field about 100-200m away from the crash site. Both pilots dead, one civilian kid injured but ok. Local taxi driver saw the crash as it happened, saying that one of the rotor blades flew off, then the Longbow took a nose-down attitude while spinning uncontrollably. A crash expert on the morning news here seems to think that a rotor blade separated and took out the tail. The GSDF said that the helicopter was undergoing a checkout flight after maintenance, and was only airborne about 7 minutes before crashing.
