Reported Super Hornet Crash/Star Wars Canyon

It impacted the rim of Star Wars Canyon at the Father Crowley Overlook, injuring 7 tourist. Pilot status is unknown. Star Wars Canyon aka Rainbow Canyon is a prime low altitude navigation training area.

Sadly that will clarify it:

On Wednesday, 31 July 2019 the Vigilantes of Strike Fighter Squadron VFA-151 lost one of their own in a catastrophic mishap. Lt. Charles Walker made the ultimate sacrifice when his F/A-18E Super Hornet went down east of Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, Calif.
