will consider

checked j-10, it has rockets mounted at inner stations.

That is a good point. I hope you guys do reconsider. :)

The intake is above the smoke plume. The other consideration is local aerodynamic effects.

It could be the local airflow causes the smoke to move towards the intake, exacerbating the situation.

The JF-17 is not better than the F-16; it's different. It's how you fly that counts.

Does this also mean we can have the C701 IR and TV variants on pylons 3 & 5?

And maybe dual racks on pylons 2 & 6?

No

Is there good reason why we cannot have C-701 dual racks on pylons 2 & 6

and single on 3 & 5?

SD-10A:

Length: 3934 mm

Diameter: 203 mm

Wing span: 670 mm

Fin span: 752 mm

Weight: 199 kg

Propulsion: Solid dual-thrust rocket motor with lofted profile

Range: 100 km

Altitude: 21 km

C-701:

Length: 2507 mm

Diameter: 180 mm

Wingspan: 587 mm(450 mm when folded)

Weight: 117 kg

Warhead: 29 kg (semi armor-piercing)

Speed: > 0.8 Mach

Cruise altitude: 15 - 20 metre

Range: 25 km

Probably related to the launch rail, which needs to split the data appropriately to the missiles.

For instance, just because an aircraft can carry the twin AIM-120 launchers doesn't mean anything about the AGM-65, because that requires the LAU-88 for multiple missiles.

Different launch rails.

The rails for the SD-10/PL-12 are PF-12s. C-701 and PL-5 use smaller P-9W rails.

The dual pylon, AFAIK only uses PF-12s. Not sure if there is a dual rail P-9W.

This may also be why we can't mount SD-10, PL-5 or C-701 on the inner stations; it is unknown if the inner pylon can mount the rails on them.

This is the first time I’ve heard someone mention the name of the rails!

I was just thinking if the SD-10 dual rack actually has two of the PF-12 rails attached and that the only unique part is the V bracket

And I never realized C-701 uses sidewinder rack, how interesting. Maybe I need to use it more
