Very poor FPS

Hi guys

Im wondering if anyone else is having this problem. :noexpression:

I'm having an issue with the FPS in the Heatblur Modules after the last update :(.

Before the update I was getting excellent FPS SOLID 50-75 FPS.:D

The issue seems to lie with OB. I have tested both OB & Stable.

All in the same Instant action mission F-14B_IA_Caucasus_take-off.miz I tested with the same mission both on Stable & OB with a couple of aircraft using the mission editor to change the aircraft . F-18, F-5 & both the Viggen & F-14.

In the Viggen & F-14 I am only getting 5-15 FPS  :cry_2:.

All other aircraft I tested I was getting a solid 50FPS & up to 125FPS :yay: .

The FPS problem is at it worst on the Caucasus map which is very strange .

I did a quick test on Nevada with the Viggen & F-14 & I was getting 25-38FPS still not the best & very inconsistent.

I cant seem to put my finger on it I hope it can be fixed & this issue isn't released into stable:fear:.

I'm sure the guys at Heatblur will sort it.

Performance wise this OB has not been the best but it’s been more the channel map. I’ve noticed very poor performance on it in VR. I cannot say for certain if there has been a performance drop regarding the other maps. I do know that in the case of HBs Viggen there is a big performance drop if you select the ground radar and have it set to a range of 30nm I think. Other ranges are fine but this range causes a big FPS hit. It’s a known issue that I think HB have said they are working on. The tomcat I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference in performance i find it is one of the more taxing modules on frames though.

I had no issues before the last update. I don't have the channel map & don't have VR.

I had excellent performance before the last where some cockpit lighting changes were introduced now it is unplayable in OB.

I cant believe I'm the only one having this issue as nothing has changed settings or hardware wise on my PC. I don't believe it is a OB issue it is a aircraft issue as it is not happening with any other devs aircraft.

Since I bought f-14, I use those files which is medicine for who suffers from performance. For me the performance problem is not related with the latest patchs, it is all about the f-14 high resolution photogrammetry model.

I recommend you to use those files:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303918/ exterior

thank japo32 for those files, without them there is no way to fly fluent for me

I shouldn't have to go backwards just to make thing work as they did before the OB was updated.

What's the point ? I have a decent machine. WIN 10 64bit Intel i7 8700K RTX 2060 dedicated SSD 32GB RAM. Its not Heatblur's fault it ED's & the OB. It just worse in the F-14 & Viggen.

I'm also having framerate issues with the Viggen, or rather some sort of microstutters.

I created a mission on Caucasus map (a few static planes at Anapa and some weather with 7/10 clouds) with the Viggen and, after noting the stutters, changed the Viggen for the Hornet. With the Hornet the stutters did not appear. Back to the Viggen, I first took away the clouds. With blue skies the microstutters are less severe, but still present. Then I reduced tree visibility to 55%, and now the simulation is almost always smooth. Every now and then at very low level over trees some occasional stutters remain though. Flying in blue skies with very low tree visibility setting cannot be the answer though!

As tested, it seems to be a Viggen issue. The Hornet works like a charm even at high settings (100% tree visibility) and heavy cloud settings.

In VR it is worse looking at anything below the ACM panel, everything above that I'm getting decent frame rates.

Noted, guys, thanks for letting us know. If there is anything on our side that we can do, we will.

Just came here to report that in the latest open beta (aug 19, Syria releas), I'm getting horrible fps with the Tomcat in VR, roughly 2/3 of what it used to be. Both CPU and GPU frametimes are through the roof, while other aircraft (Mustang, Huey) perform like before on the same maps.

Anything I can upload to help with the investigation?

Just finished running the F-14 and frames were great. I'm running locked at 60fps. Low or high altitude.

Even in Vegas or on the Supercarrier? I doubt it.

I used to run 75fps in VR (Pimax 8K-X) so I wouldn't call 60fps on a monitor great by any measure.

Now it's running at ~45-50.

60fps is great for a sim. This isn't a first person shooter. More than sufficient. I have vsync enabled in DCS.
