Might be just wishful thinking, but have you noticed none of the youtubers have shown any air combat in P-47? Obviously it's mainly A/G plane, but I would expect at least some of them would try to dogfight.

So maybe the new DM is already activated and they just had to agree not to show any A/A in those previews to keep it a surprise.

I am much more inclined that DM model for P-47 is so broken now that, there is no point showing it.
It is already stated that spin stalls not working properly yet in p-47, don't know if high speed diving is working correctly, compresibility on the plane.Even FM isn't finished yet, Full release of NDM is quite far thing, this is how i feel about it.

It absolutely is not mainly a A/G airframe, it can and should rule the high altitude A/A engagements. Was it good at A/G sure.

I'm hoping we get the bearing damage model and some more tidbits from new damage model when it comes as that big radial can take a beating. The Achilles heal of the Jug is the Oil system.

My bad. I'm not educated in the WWII stuff and I assumed this was the case since people keep calling it granddad of A-10

The P-47 shot down more aircraft than the P-51.

By 8 May 1945, the 8th, 9th, and 15th Air Force's P-51 groups claimed some 4,950 aircraft shot down (about half of all USAAF claims in the European theater, the most claimed by any Allied fighter in air-to-air combat) and 4,131 destroyed on the ground. Losses were about 2,520 aircrafts.
--wiki

Although the North American P-51 Mustang replaced the P-47 in the long-range escort role in Europe, the Thunderbolt still ended the war with 3,752 air-to-air kills claimed in over 746,000 sorties of all types, at the cost of 3,499 P-47s to all causes in combat.

American claims lot of things ...
But those number are completely false as every book explain those kills don't need to be confirmed in the USAAF ...

You would never know exactly which plane did the best in USAAF.
