To my surprise AIM-9X and AIM-120C were available for Marine F/A-18C Lot 20. 9X achieved IOC with active USAF F-15C and Navy F/A-18C in 2003. Marine Charlie Hornets came later , about '05. Tried the same in 1995. Also available. At last in 1993 neither the Lot 20 Hornet nor Aim-9X were available. So its good to see ED is working on it. I remember 1996-1998. We were worried about dust-up with China over Taiwan. POTUS Clinton sent a whole CVBG to sail through Taiwan Straits. I was Army (Res). at time. It was said that the CVBG was within eyesight from either shore of the Strait. Then PLAN had this huge exercise that appeared to simulate anti-shipping, and mass artillery assault, in prep for amphib landing.
