DCS 2.5.6.49314 Open Beta FPS Drop

Recommended Posts

Huge FPS drop in this patch went from 60fps to 20fps and all is working on my end. Alot of comments on this latest patch and it's not favorable. Hope they straighten it out.

Not at all being that guy but my performance after today’s release runs better with higher settings and more FPS than it ever has. I gave up on OB and has 2.55 pretty well optimized. The new OB blows it away performance wise.

Maybe repair or reinstall??

Again, not rubbing it in but improvements are drastic.

Good luck!

I9 (5Ghz turbo)2080ti 64Gb 3200 ram. 3 drives. A sata 2tb storage and 2 M.2 drives. 1 is 1tb, 1 is 500gb.

Valve Index, Virpil t50 cm2 stick, t50 base and v3 throttle w mini stick. MFG crosswind pedals.

I had to "reset" my graphic settings to "High" from where they were and they were actually almost exact to the DCS "High" setting. Now much better (sort of a graphic reboot).

I still get that annoying pop up asking for serial numbers for the aircraft I already own in Flaming Cliffs. Hope that gets sorted out.

It was stated by a different member to delete the aircraft requesting a serial number and those same aircraft will still be there (part of Flaming Cliffs).

Try deleting your shader cache. It's recommended after every bigger update(I'm doing it after every update because I'm paranoid).

You'll find it here:

C:\Users\*Username*\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta

To make sure it's being regenerated with the new patched version, I delete Data, fxo, Logs and metashaders2.

I'm finding 2.5.6.49314 performs very well so far. Definitely a massive improvement. Great framerates and no stutters for me.

DCS still won't save my stupid cockpit point-of-view, though... That sux.

Yep, huge performance increase. Don't forget to revisit/remove prior performance "tweaks" of any kind (VR shader mod etc.), because they might interfere with the latest changes to the graphics engine.

Do not forget to disable SSLR, this one is a big performance killer.

I'm happy to hear some users are seeing increased FPS. I unfortunately am not seeing an improvement. Exact same issue as before the patch. Sitting on the tarmac, 100 fps, truck drives by, 50 fps. Load up bomber escort in the P51 and again, 100 fps and drops all the way to single digits with bombers in the area. Hop into a quick mission, free flight and I'm back up to 100+ fps.

Similar story here, I'm afraid, but mostly in VR.
