I also hope that it is only a firmware problem. My warBRD has serial number 000007 :-)

EDIT

Problem solved after loading the correct device profile.

Fast, professional service response :-)

Ah ok so there is a warBRD profile within the software? Curious just because I don't want to mess anything up when I get mine.

Depends on the grip, there's a profile for the MT-50, Delta and TMW grips.

Thanks for the response! Makes sense. I will be switching between the warthog grip and mt-50 grip so that is good to know.

@gsce

When using the Warthog grip (which - unlike the Virpil grips - has a fixed 5-pin Mini-DIN connector) on a WarBRD base you are supposed to remove the two small screws that hold in place the 5-pin Mini-DIN base connector.

It's hard to say from your video (the one in which you swap the grip between Warthog base and WarBRD base), but it seems that the screws are still in place in your case.

Looks like my warBRD base and grip has arrived at JFK Airport and then after it says arrived at post office.

I'm in Philly so only about 2 hours away, hopefully should have it soon unless it takes another few days for it to go through customs.

Received my WarBRD base yesterday. Overall impression is very good, same quality as T-50 base. Problem for me with the T-50 base was the desk mount, which forces me to sit too far away from the desk. So, I will change to the WarBRD now.

After a first test I didn`t like the pre-mounted profile and the springs on the WarBRD base using the TMW-grip. Therefore I decided to change to the no-center cams and the stronger springs.

Problem is, that two of the four no-center cams have the screw (to fix the spring) on the wrong side. I tried to change side, but wasn`t able to loosen the screws and almost destroyed the screw heads.

Ok, no problem, I thought, just mount the cams as they are. Only thing is, that the springs are now mounted not straight but a bit diagonally. Function is ok.

But then I recognized the problem with this solution. The side spring now touches slightly a part of the base when stick is moved to the far right position. That causes a creaking noise every time I move the stick to the far right.

Opened a ticket on their homepage and hope to receive two exchange cams with correctly mounted screws.

Do you need to remove the cams to change the springs? Or can you just change the springs without removing cams?

I know I will need to change to strong springs because I want to swap between t50 grip and warthog grip.

Are there any user guides yet on how to do this for the warBRD? The noobifier video was nice but could have used a bit more detail.

No, you don`t need to remove the cams, if you only want to change to the stronger springs.

Just a bit tricky to get the strong springs over the screws of the cams.

Yea if the cams that comes with mine are also no center then I may need to change them. I like having a center on my stick. Sucks that the screws are going to be tough to remove. Hopefully I won't mess anything up as it will be the first time I'm doing this.

Same for me but I was able to change the screws, using the proper screwdriver without problem.

Zip tie trick works very well for this, at least in my Gunfighter it does and if the spring assembly is similar in the WarBRD should there also.

Hook one end of spring on, other end make a loop with zip tie and slide over the hook, then pull zip tie ( with pliers if need the extra pull) over the screws. Once over and hooked cut zip tie loop and slide out.

The cam profiles that come with the base are the ones you want. These are the cams with a center.

I changed to the no center profiles. The original profile with the center felt a bit wired when moving the stick in circles. Than you can clearly feel a kind of resistance in the movement when stick passes the 2,5,7 and 10 o´clock positions, because of the shape of the profiles. The no center profiles don`t have that resistance and you can circle the stick much smoother.

But you have to try by yourself what you prefer.

If you get correctly mounted screws on the profiles, you don`t need to remove those screws on the profiles.

The other screws to change cam profiles are easy to remove.

How did you know the screws were mounted incorrectly? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to prepare myself for anything I may need to do when mine arrives.

This is what my profiles (the no center ones) looked like - see attachment. Usually all four profiles have to look the same. When you open the base, you can see easily how the profiles have to look like and on which side the screws have to be mounted.

Interesting, so those come preinstalled into the cams I suppose. Good to know, thanks for the pic as that makes it much easier to identify.

@ram506

Are they using thread lock on those screws on the cams? If yes, heat them with a heat gun and should be much easier to unscrew.

Unlike the cam screws from MongoosT-50, with these screws you have access to use combination pliers to grip the screw head (but be very careful how much torque you apply; if the screws are really locked in place you could even snap the screw or damage the cam). Use a vise to grip the cam and pliers to unscrew the bolt. The screw head will have some marks if you do this, but those are only cosmetic.

Yes, everything is right. Here such tool -

To remove and replace the spring, do not turn the screws! Use the tool -

Good I already have some pliers. Don't own a vice grip but you can use 8mm wrenches to hold the other side of the nuts of the screws.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions! I was able to undo the screws with pliers. It was rather easy, I didn't even damage the screw heads and no scratches can be seen. I think, if you have the right tools (screw driver), you won't even need a vice grip. My screw driver was just a bit too small to apply enough force.

By the way, Virpil support already responded to my ticket - excellent service!

Everything works like a charm now, no creaking any more. No-center cams and heavy springs work best for me.

Thanks again, guys!

Oh, so you used a too small screwdriver. Always use the proper tool. Everybody should have basic tools like flat screwdrivers of different sizes. Wiha makes very good screwdrivers (SoftFinish and MicroFinish series).

Wow it's here. I literally checked tracking this morning and it was in New York. Didn't expect it to arrive today! So it shipped last Tuesday and arrived today. That was quick!

Unfortunately I won't have time to set it up now and this weekend I have a date coming over. If she sees me tinkering with this stuff she may lose her shit lol and be like what's wrong with this guy. 4428829b42027970c7a50fe1766fc42a.jpg
