B-17 Bombing

I probably missed this somewhere. Is there a way to get the AI B-17 to bomb?

I have tried in the ME and can't seem to get it to work.

Carpet bombing works. It's in the advanced actions under a waypoint. Any B17 joined to a leader with this will also dump their load together.

It's very impressive to watch.

Did you ever get the bombing to work in the end. I'm in the same position. If I create a formation of 4 aircraft with waypoints over an airfield, using the advanced waypoint actions, choose bombing and place the marker over the target, they just fly over the target and don't drop any bombs. I've also noticed that the payload window is blank of any options for the B17, you can create a new one, but it's still blank. Is this configurable? Choose other aircraft from the list and they have payload options, but not for the B17.

You have to create a new payload ( button bottom left of screen iirc) and right click in plane center position, choose bombs)

That's it. Kaboom.

thanks for the tip, yes found the bomb options, but still couldn't get the bombs to drop until iron bombs were set (which I found in another thread), found the formation settings as well, so a good day. Just waiting for the flak guns and some infantry to turn up.
