DCS: JF-17 Known Issue List

Hey everyone!

 

Here's the known issue list, and we are now working hard to fix them. More features and bug-fix will come after EA.

External model:

  • External visual damage model is in early WIP.
  • Incorrect pilot and canopy model after ejection.
  • Minor issue with pilot model.
  • The twin bomb rack on hardpoint 2/6 is not the correct type.
  • Racks on inner wing hardpoints lack textures.
  • Payload smokewinders will be added once model is completed
  • Through-canopy ejection is yet to be modelled.
  • Textures and detail model in Landing Gear and LG bay would be added in the future。
  • Will increase available liveries from 3 to 10.
  • Livery template will be released after we finish the pylon station texture
  • LOD will be added later
  • GB6 texture may have some errors at some specific aspect.

Cockpit model:

  • Some mechanical parts in the rear of the cockpit lacks animation.
  • Too much light sources cause weird shadow looking. (Graphic Engine Limitation)
  • Incomplete textures: canopy frame, some items on side walls, joystick and throttle base, items behind eject seat
  • Missing LG handle indication light
  • Head movement could be out of canopy

Sensors:

  • AG radar contact rendering is WIP.
  • Currently not providing DBS/EXP functions.
  • Currently not providing TA mode.
  • AGR mode not avaibale at this moment
  • Currently not providing spotlight mode.
  • WMD7 has a chance of failing to track target.
  • When ground hot, RDR in STBY/SIL mode, scan az indicator could be a bit inaccurate
  • TGP animations/masking needs further polish and debug
  • Radar screen flashing when tgp is also turned on (Need ED's fix, due to mixed render target export)

Avionics:

  • RWR could not have tracking/lock/msl warning in MP (will try to fix it ASAP)
  • IFF result could override identification on DL.
  • Check list page not available at this moment. Identification synthesis will be taken care after EA.
  • When born in air, some MFCD could be in wrong page.
  • Datalink doesn't support AWACS at this moment, awacs dl seems to be hardcoded for E-x and A-50 only.

Systems:

  • Wheel chocks can not be placed and removed above 60% RPM which is hardcoded by DCS.
  • Changing laser code for bombs is quite user-unfriendly right now. Later will add a method to change in the kneeboard.
  • map on kneeboard now is dark, it's side-effect from potential fix of flashing AG radar RBM

Missions:

  • A mini campaign is included at release, and will be further expanded after EA
  • We will add more QS and single missions after EA.
  • Training only contains two lessons upon release, more will come after EA. We didn't have enough time to polish the two lessons.

Weapons:

  • Due to some limitations in missile scheme, the BRM1 is currently using beam riding guidance as a place holder.
  • Type200 anti-runway bomb will be added when model completed.
  • Selective Jettison of missiles can cause it to activate its seeker due to missile API limitations.
  • No actual effect of selecting SD10 target size in the SMS.
  • No actual effect of selecting C802AK target size and sea state in the SMS.
  • Some SAMs do not intercept CM802AKG.
  • CM802AKG damage to ships could be too low.

EFM and FCS:

  • G-limit for damaging the external tanks are currently fixed values regardless of remaining fuel.
  • Drag of external tanks at medium to high alts require some fine tuning.
  • The mass of external wing tanks are wrongly placed at centerline, causing incorrect roll/yaw moments if loaded asymmetrically. To make up the experience we forced mission loadout of external wing tanks to be symmetrical until the issue is fixed.
  • CSS control of pitch angle and bank angle in Autopilot is yet to be implemented. Current you can only use pitch CSS to control the holding altitude in ALT HOLD mode.

  • Quick guides in EN and CN are quite WIP, and will keep updates after EA.
  • Flight manual will be available after Quick guide finished.

No missile smoke is unacceptable as it ruins the sim for everyone, not just those flying the JF-17. (Someone just suggested to me that maybe you mean smoke generator pods? Hope so.)

 

The lack of LOD punishes other players on the same server too.

I applaud your transparency, this is not only an interesting module, you really set high standards for communication that I hope puts pressure on others (cough looking at you company that starts with R) :)

Does it still work if attacked by AI in multiplayer?

Or is RWR not working at all?

The MAWS system still work in multiplayer?

Publishing a list of omitted features and known bugs should be standard for early access releases. God knows that people have become annoyed at the lack of information in the past, for which you had to ask about individual systems/weapons, their status, and dig up that info from various places.

So, is AWACS D/L completely nonfunctional, or are the E-2/3 and A-50 the only one that can x-mit D/L, but not KJ-2000?

for new emitter, there's warning. but if being locked/tracked/ seems not (RWR shows emitter, but color doesn't change if being locked). :cry:

See.... Deka is really setting a new bar in communications, module early access quality and many other things like "Known bugs" list!

 

Now lets just hope they don't tire up from doing great job!
