That's a 6 months old statement, and he mentioned that it will EVENTUALLY happen.

I'm really hoping that it will happen. Would be a smart move from Razbam as they would benefit from the work already done on the M2000C that can be carried over to the -5 (FM, engine/ hydraulics/fuel/electric system,A-G weapons/Canon...) and from partnership with AdA that would cut time spent to gather datas.

There is also only one new weapon to work on (MICA EM/IR)

Compared to the work that would be needed to do a Mirage 2000D, i think this module could be done quite quickly. I guess that all Mirage 2000C lovers would buy the Mirage 2000-5, so that module would sell quite well for less efforts than the ones needed for a totally new module.

They might also benefit from the work on the Harrier around MFCD/Datalink handling/coding

So it just makes sense Razbam :) Go ahead ! :D

That are some awesome news! And it makes sense from the Marketing-View... With the advent of the F-16 there will be a swift FBW single Engine Jet, very similar to the beloved M2000 but with more Capabilities in the BVR-Warfare. That's a thing that makes the old M2000C a little bit obsolete.

With the Fox-3 options, the flexibility and the sheer beauty of the Airframe, a new version will be an instant buy for me!

To be honest, the full option Hornet is already giving a hard time to any Fox 1 shooter :music_whistling:

And take note that French Air Force Mirage 2000-5F is AA only :smilewink:

I give them 5-6 years to complete that promise....

Then I call it...

Seriously, that I think is seen in France as one of the good ways to promote their own fighter industry... Something that I wish that Russia could do as well with little more modern aircrafts than Su-25A, Su-27S and Mig-29S.

Mirage 2000-5 isn’t in production anymore. But I wish they would want to promote Rafale :D

Mica IR can be used as BVR missile with LOAL (Lock On After Launch) mode, that would be a new thing in DCS.

I can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth of the aeroquake set now...

Good luck with that Dassault is super protective of IP. Even when people made the rafale for fsx/p3d they got slapped with a cease from Dassault.

I know. But AdA involved in the project can be a game changer.

Younger guys with more open mind in the company too. :smartass:

War load during Libya operation: 3 tanks (wing tanks comes from Mirage 2000N), 3 Mica EM (radar) + 3 Mica IR. Bigger "Eclair pod" with higher decoy capacity. No DDM though (no cryogenic bottle in Mica rail, self cooling system in Mica IR).

They have Link 16 too.

Someone needs to subtitle this in English like right now.

They are explaining they want to use serious gaming as a cheap tool for large scale training (think virtual COMAO, 30+ players).

They said it started with EC 2/5 for their own training. But AdA want to expand the concept. Next is Mirage 2000-5, maybe other Mirage 2000 (after C and -5 only D is missing). On longer plan, they think about all AdA air assets, and they talk about A400M and...Rafale :smartass:

They also say they are on the market for proper HOTAS.

I saw some pictures of prototypes of Warthog mods for C and -5. But it's super expensive for consumer market (metallic 3D printing, 800€ for stick).

But one thing at a time...that kind of thing takes time.
