2.5 graphics settings for gtx 1080ti

Recommended Posts

all max, except flat shadows and msaa off (you probably do not need any AA with that res, otherwise use external AA especially FXAA via nVidia Control or nVidia Inspector) this is with deferred shading ON for the better trees...

Smooth as silk

I5-7600k, 32GB mem, gtx 1080ti currently at stock. I’m running on a 60”/60hz 4k tv at that resolution. What are the optimal settings you’ve found?[/quote

Hi there FlyingTexan

I use these settings with no stutters or any other issues I can see. It seems to run better when maxed out and much smoother than 1.5 was. I'm getting a good fps between 50 and 100 ( usually sitting around 60 ) depending on what's happening in my mission and how many active units there are. Hope this gives you some ideas. And at the risk of painting a tgt on my back here, I reckon don’t bother with GPU or CPU OC it’s all marketing palava and just risks overheating issues.

Cheers G

HDR = Bung Bong!

everything maxed out on 1080p resolution. HDR or deferred shading gives good fps

Deferred shading looks awesome but when I switched to HDR it was woefully terrible, just saying

Hmmm... with a system that mediocre, why bother trying to run DCS at all.

Or, quit bragging on the forums like a 12 year old and play the bloody sim.

Figure out your own damn settings :)

similar specs, all maxed out but stutters... whats your NCP set pls?

Everyone gets stutters. It doesn't matter what NASA-certified gaming hardware you have or your settings in DCS. Mortgaging a kidney to buy uber-spec diamond-studded PC gear won't cure it.

It's either a problem with DCS World, or a problem with Windows, or a problem with drivers. Best of luck sorting it out--I've tried for ages and it ain't happening. Our best bet is to wait for ED to iron it out for us one of these years, if they can, or if they can be bothered. It seems to happen more when there's other units flying, and happens much less (or not at all) on 'sightseeing' flights.

Probably an asset-loading issue, or an oversight in how frames prepared by the CPU are delivered to the video card, or a texture-swapping hitch, or a problem with loading shaders, or just a plain ol' garden-variety screwup. I'm not a coder, but I lean toward the latter :)

Even with the hardware below I get stutters, but they are extremely rare. Got to have fast as crap drives and not have the pagefile on the same drive as DCS...gotta keep the disk contention down especially if you are on the low side of RAM and/or VRAM.

I am running a 1080ti asus strix OC, i7 7700k@4.8ghz / 32gb ddr4 Gskill tridentZ 3200mhz.

I dont have any stutters also with all settings to max, the only "issue" I have is jittery with trackir.

If i get a perfect 120fps or above all is smooth as butter with trackir, if fps drops below 120, or even if stable 80 fps it will stutter/jitter.

IF i disable trackir, i have smooth game between 60-1000 fps.

I’m using an EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 and 3 27-inch monitors @ 7680 X 1440 everything maxed out MSAA @ 2 Getting between 55 & 65 FPS in the air and 100 to 115 FPS @ 2560 X 1440. I’m using Process Lasso Pro and Page file turned off on all drives since I set it up this way no more hard freezes, once in the while get slight micro freeze but sim is very playable set up this way for me

I have 30 - 34 fps, tried to disable Antisotroping filtering, vSync ON

I will attach a print screen, later when I get home

Does the nVidia control Panel help / affect?

Thank you

Vsync On =30fps when 60 is not sustained. Try Vsync Off and limit FPS to 58 in autoexec.cfg.

Everything is maxed out on mine.

@aluminum donkey

I support your highly technical breakdown of the cause of stutters :)

Recently, my computer slowed down considerably while doing some Wireshark recording. I initially chalked it up to Camtasia but then noticed that the CPU hog was SAPISVR.EXE. Apparently, it has to do with speech recognition engine. Maybe Cortana uses it too. Then it reminded me that some folks experiencing stuttering in DCS made it go away by muting the microphone. So perhaps they too were running into SAPISRVR sucking up CPU cycles? If everything else fails, it's worth a shot.

Are the nVidia CP settings working with DCS, or not ?
