I don't think you'll need to bother with changing anything in CSM, to be honest. But yeah, it's not going to be as difficult as you're thinking. But make sure you can log into windows account. When you first install, use Windows account, you can change it to a local account later. But once you log in, you don't have to worry about the Win10 license anymore. MS remembers it for you. If you reinstall Win later, you don't have to worry about looking for the key.

Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on it. Nice looking rig, I am envious. I am going to do a new build this year myself, just trying to hold out till later in the year to see what might come down the pike.

I am tempted to go ahead though.

BTW, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention RocketCool's delid'ing tool. It's about 30 minutes of work (super easy to do) and you'll drop your CPU temp by 10 deg C or more. Take a look at the video on his site and you'll see how easy it is. If you've ever applied thermal paste on to a CPU, you can delid it. It's really that easy. Now I run my 8700K at 5.1 GHz and I didn't really have to do much to get it to run at that rate. My CPU stays very cool.

I'm also holding out to upgrading to 8th gen. I'm torn between pulling the trigger now or wait for the 10nm ones.

P.S. I already bought the Rockit88 deliding tool and Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. Planning to delid the current 6700k. If I bork it during the process, then on to the 8700k or 8086k.

You *want* to screw it up so you can upgrade. We're on to you!

It's so easy though. One tip, after you delid, I make a note of where on the IHS the cpu actually touches. This way, I can apply the Conductonaut on that square space on the IHS. When you take it off, you'll see what I mean.
