What is 'pattern work'? Can you give a sample?

Pattern work, as in practicing the Pattern for the Airfield. We do patterns how the U.S Navy does them, and a lot of our new guys aren't familiarized on the Navy styled pattern. So that's what I mean by "Pattern Work"

Any New Zealand or Australians Squadrons? Im fairly new to DCS been flying huey and bit of the FC3 aircraft (preordered F/A 1 but looking for some to have some fun and help while I learn.
