-0303-
Good interview overall. Best single takeout for me: The commitment to accuracy. We'll never get a Tempest because there's no one still around who has flown it. Raven (Elysian Angel)
Regardless of any personal feelings about [GR], I found it to be a very good interview, with very useful information being shared. I liked the further insights into ED's thought process when it comes to Early Access, etc. Spoiler Ryzen 9 5900X | 64GB G.Skill TridentZ 3600 | Gigabyte RX6900XT | ASUS ROG Strix X570-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 960Pro 1TB NMVe | HP Reverb G2 Pro Flight Trainer Puma | VIRPIL MT-50CM2+3 base / CM2 x2 grip with 200 mm S-curve extension + CM3 throttle + CP2/3 + FSSB R3L + VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | TPR rudder pedals OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS "HIGH" preset

Eldur
Sorry for getting taken away by those posts... I just tried to show that the interview is worth listening to regardless, but went into OT myself with that topic. This interview gives some great insight. I'd especially recommend listening it to everyone who does not understand why ED does the Early Access thing. Nick describes very well why the team decided to do it like that. And that's the take I prefer as well. The Hornet was and still is a good example of releasing something basic and adding features one after each other, giving you enough time to understand and learn each with ennough time until the next thing drops. Having everything at once just blows you away which is what I see with the Jeff. I like the fact it's nearly feature complete, but getting into it is definately harder. And the whole model pays off. We pay less, you get lots more testers and in the end we all win by having a better product. And I'm really looking forward to the 47... I don't fly WWII much yet, but I need that Jug. Another thing I really liked about this interview is how open Nick speaks about the flaws of DCS, especially the damage model - driving the team to improve these points and possibly make it the best out there. This shows dedication, but also being humble and honest to the own product when it's not perfect or even far from that at some point. After all it's the challenge to make it (close to) perfect in the end. And if DCS keeps getting worked on the next 25 years like it was in the past, it will keep being there as the top notch study sim. It's our all take to get there by being and staying interested and getting the modules some of us are going to make. Did I mention how awesome that voice of him is already? Jafferson
What he mentioned about the early access, it wouldn't be possible to deliver a module without it. I like the fact that the community is part of the development process, we all made it together. He told us windmiling will break the engine, but he didn't tell us what minimum MP is needed to prevent the Damage?

Nealius
If you maintain a set RPM and MP, how will that ensure proper approach/landing speed?
grafspee
2 hours ago, Nealius said: If you maintain a set RPM and MP, how will that ensure proper approach/landing speed? At 26" and 2550rpm i end up with 140 mph approach speed, when i am at final i gently cut throttle to 0. Because you cant close throttle at speed in this bird, landing pattern is quite longer that in p-51 for example. Voyager
I'm given to understand there are a number of flying P-47's in operation now. Has anyone checked in with any of their pilots to see how landing is supposed to be handled?
