Scotch,

I've looked at both lines and have previously removed "scriptmod" from the paths file. That's not the issue.

The error isn't within the paths file - the error is within either of the following two files,

UTIL_Functions.lua - Doesnt have a specific line specified

but

BAT_FirstMission.lua:43 is the following line:

dofile("../../../ScriptsMod."..versionPackageICM.."/UTIL_Functions.lua")

I've tried replacing /ScriptsMod." with the 20.xx.xx.xx as my current package is, but that doesn't seem to fix the problem either.

Messed around and found a few things out of place within UTIL_Functions and the BAT first mission file.

Successfully generated and ran through first missions, however, I get the following error when ending a mission:

Hi all. I am playing the Desert Tiger campaign and noticed an issue where the F4's never take off. They just kinda get backed up on the entrance to the runway. I have to 'steer' around them to be able to take off. Then I had an escort mission but I think the planes I was supposed to escort where the ones stuck on the runway. Only tried 2 missions, but happened in both.

Figured i'd let you know.

Thanks again!

Hi SolidGad,  I did some tests.  I did notice that F-4s would take off. But at random one F-4 would de-spawn and the pilot and co-pilot would end up standing on the taxiway blocking everyone.  This might be a DCS issue.  But I'll try to figure it out.

For campaigns to last over time, you also have to stop "tinkering" them ....

Well, come on, throw out the usual info...
On ONE campaign only
script version
version of the campaign
screen printout of the DCE installation in the directories etc etc...

You know the music...

LOL

Ok!

First of all

If its ONE CAMPAIGN ONLY - I choose Iran v Iraq OR IRIAF over PG ****IF**** if you can make it a F14A

Otherwise, a US F14 campaign with the A. if you cannot, a F14B but pick one of the ones thats later (TF68 Persian gulf maybe, where A would be cauacauses..)

I have NOT tinkered with my campaigns!!  they suddenly broke mon ami! seriously!  I wish you could just teach me how to do this, and this is such a shame as p80 modified the flanker campaign so I could fly my Jf17. But no - I need a tomcat DCE. this is literally unacceptable in my life LOL

Also - hate to admit it, but here are some screens. more specifically what do you need?   Say for Iran Irak, Iran Tomcat PG, or Battle group Alpha, any one of those?  For an error message ,if you scroll up and see other peoples error message its like the exact same message.

I get a pop up error when I start mission. If I hit ok I  can fly, but when i  quit it reappears. I hit ok, but DCE never runs.

Some DCE campaigns will still go - others flat out refuse to run anymore. NONE save or work as intended.

Miguel, thank you.

Uhuuuuuuuuuu, wait, iran-irak looks very old as a script version we'll try to fix something else.

Tell me which campaign you want us to fix, but an existing campaign, without modification.

(no, for the moment there is no F14A, and I haven't seen TF-68 in the gulf)

F14A is scheduled, but later

Just a quick bit of support as i've had a few problems (which I assume are related to my Batch file) as I'm using (and have enabled via) the DCE Mission Script Mod in OvGME - does this look right dor the entries in my BAT file (given the Script Mod version is correct)

Quote

REM Core or Main DCS ou DCS.beta path, always end the line with \
set "pathDCS=F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCSWorld OpenBeta\"

REM DCS or DCS.beta saved game path, always end the line with \
set "pathSavedGames=C:\Users\Jason\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\"

Assuming the paths are to those drives/files?

I'm getting cannot find path specified in the command line window when I run the First mission .bat file

As below (though if you look at the folder it DOES exist...

This corresponds to a "cosmetic" address where Windows replaces some name by another more ... understandable, but useless in "precise" computing.

So, to get the "real" address, you have to click with the mouse on the address bar of the windows window at the top of the window.

This is an example, this is not the path of my game (which I don't have on this PC)

Hello I have installed the su-27 campaign and it is really impresive how much better it feels to fly a mission now having this dinamic contects affecting your flying decitions! jajaj

I have 2 questions:

1.- How can I change o restrict some weather configurations because I usally get a super cloudy weather that almost kills my FPS, so for now I would like to have clear weather or at least not so heavy clouds (sometimes I get cloud starting from 1500 all the way up till 7000 meters...)

2.- I would like to build and share campaigns. I have some basic LUA knowledge and still improving , but I have not been able to find the MBOT DCE framework... Where can I find it and its documentation?

Thanks in advance

This is normal for a mission starting on CVN.
But by doing F1 you should be able to enter the cockpit afterwards.

Which campaign is it about?

HI,
You can find the weather variables in the file Init/camp_init.lua
On the other hand, you will have to restart your campaign with FirstMission.bat

	weather = {						--campaign weather
pHigh = 40, --probability of high pressure weather system
pLow = 60, --probability of low pressure weather system
refTemp = 15, --average day max temperature
	},

Concerning the modifications to be carried out on a campaign, I believe that Cef wrote something about it
There is also Eagle who proposes modified campaigns, you could ask him

I have some serious problems with the Spitfire Campaign I installed from here:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311430/

After finishing the first mission, I do get an command-prompt window showing some errors, ignoring it and continuing on the next mission, I get an error as well. Of what I know, you should get some type of debrief window, which I do not get.

So, I have been troubleshooting a little, opened a command-prompt, both in normal mode and admin-mode, and run the FirstMission.bat, and I get this output:

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Script: 20.38.01 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Reset the campaign and generate a new first mission.

It seems it cannot write/load camp_status.lua, and I cannot find that file anywhere (search both the Saved Game directory and the DCSWorld directory).

Running DEBUG_DebriefMission.bat i get this:

I:\Spel\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\luae.exe: ..\..\..\ScriptsMod.20.38.01\Debrief_Master.lua:46: attempt to call a nil value

Running SkipMission.bat I get this:

I am running latest stable version of DCSWorld, is it something I have forgot to install?

The path.bat looks like this:

set "pathDCS=I:\Spel\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\"

REM DCS or DCS.beta saved game path, always end the line with \
set "pathSavedGames=C:\Users\johan\Saved Games\DCS\"

REM DCE ScriptMod version not any / or \ and no space before and after =
set "versionPackageICM=20.38.01"

I have installed the Campaign as instructed and double-checked everything.

Hmm, it seems after when I have manually created a folder named 'Active' in:

C:\Users\johan\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\DCE\Missions\Campaigns\WWII The Channel Spitfire

the FirstMission.bat seems to successfully generate a new first mission for the campaign without any errors.

So it seems Lua cannot create folders by itself, I wonder if there are any more folders that DCE is using which needs to be created manually by the user.... I will try fly the campaign and see what happens...

@oscar19681 Maybe creating the folder 'Active' as described above, solves your problem, it may have solved mine....

@Scotch75 Hmm, your link points to the first post in this thread? It seems not to link to your fix.

Anyway, creating the folder 'Active' did help, but then I got another error, but not in the command-prompt, instead I got a error-dialog, attached to this post.

Thanks for your help! 🙂

Edit: I will try the campaign now after have been running FirstMission.bat, and see if the error disappears, as I noticed that the folder Active was empty after starting and finishing the first mission. Hopefully a new mission will be generated, and that I get debrief.

I guess this is the post you want to link to:

In my post, I already have the path.bat set correctly:

set "versionPackageICM=20.38.01"

So that solution does not apply! 😛

Current problem I have now is this:

DCE_script_error.jpg

Edit: Also notice that creating a folder named 'Active' in the folder:

C:\Users\johan\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\DCE\Missions\Campaigns\WWII The Channel Spitfire

solves the first problem, but now I get this dialog-error instead.

Edit2: It seems the error happens in the lua-file ~mis00000805.lua on line 239 as pointed out in the dialog:

--prepare campaign path
local path = string.gsub(camp.path, "/", "\\") --replace slashes in campaign path with double-backslashes
		if string.sub (camp.path, 2, 1) ~= ":" then --si le chemin est differen de C:\Users ou D:\Users
path = os.getenv('USERPROFILE') .. "\\" .. path --get path of windows userprofile and add to campaign path
		end
		path = path .."Mods\\tech\\DCE\\Missions\\Campaigns\\"..camp.title.."\\"											-- Miguel21 modification M35.b version ScriptsMod
		env.info( "pathDCE "..tostring(path) )

		--export custom mission log
		local logStr = "events = " .. TableSerialization(customLog, 0)
		local logFile = io.open(path .. "MissionEventsLog.lua", "w")
		logFile:write(logStr)
		logFile:close()

Line 239 in this case the line which contains:

logFile:write(logStr)

It seems it cannot load the file for writing, I guess something is wrong with the paths. Where is the logfile (which the script above tries to open) stored?

Maybe there is another folder I need to create as with the 'Active' folder?

Ok, I see where you are at now. This goes beyond my comprehension of coding etc. When you flew this, did anything get destroyed in the mission, requiring a log file to be written ie did you enter the mission and exit out without anything happening? I have noticed this in the past, so I have thought if nothing gets "destroyed" in the mission, a file is not written and therefore the program enters a loop ie the "nil value" remark. It would need more focused testing though.

Not what I believe of, it is hard to kill submarines with only two Spitfires.😁

I will try to kill something this time.

Also, I am not sure if I should have the savedGame path in path.bat set to the full path, or only:

set "pathSavedGames=Saved Games\DCS\"
