Jarhead_SGT
UPDATED AT BOTTOM: Rig: i7 7700K @ 4.2GHz 32GB Ram Asus OC 2080TI 11GB 960 Evo 1TB SSD Oculus Rift driven by Oculus software (not Steam VR) Win 10 64bit Acer X34 G-SYNC monitor DCS Beta, F14B, Persian Gulf. My plane, alone on the Stennis in the middle of the water. Default VR settings, 1.0 pixel density. NVIDIA settings set to application controlled. Pegged at 45FPS all the time. What in heck am I doing wrong?? :( UPDATE: Tried every setting under the book. Performace headroom is constantly -50 to -70% according to the oculus debug tool. Without ASW on, frames are in the 30s. Something is definitely amiss here and many folks complaining this is a recent issue with 2.5.4 Edited March 22, 2019 by Jarhead_SGT
Buckeye
You have ASW on in the Rift software, so if you're not getting 90FPS (which you never will in the current version of DCS bc it's so terribly optimized), it locks you to 45FPS for smoothness. Jarhead_SGT
Should I force ASW off? I have the Oculus Debug Console. Or does it make no difference?
nachomaga
You can turn off in the game, CTRL + Num Pad 1. I prefer turned off myself, I feel I gain some fps.

Drac
My system is close to yours. I can get 45 fps and at times looking in the sky get 90 fps. My PD is set at 1.9.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 23, 2019 ED Team Share Posted March 23, 2019 I'm getting 35 - 45 fps also with my dell visor WMR pixel density 1.2 In the menu screen I get 90fps cpu never goes above 35% It is still smooth and I don't have any issues tracking but it would be nice to see higher frames, I am sure the future changes will help Forum rules - DCS Crashing? ElementLT
im holding solid at 45 fps (outside & inside cockpit) on the ground and can burst to 90 (outside cockpit) when im up high. I have to admit that lately, VR in DCS has gotten better. I can even use a little MSAA and not take a huge hit. You can also try using the Oculus Tray tool to disable ASW if you have it enable thru Oculus. my settings (old screenshot i can actually use a little MSAA @ 2x) I also wrote a blog about my VR settings last year that may have some helpful info. Its a few months ago and may need updating by now but could be still helpful. I will give your settings a shot and see how it goes. I am also suspecting there is optimization work that F14 needs to do for frames.....but overall, it looks like DCS in general needs more focused work in this area. hazzer
45fps is good for dcs and smoothness. If 90fps cant be achieved which it cannot. 45 is the answer RTX 2080ti, I7 9700k, 32gb ram, SSD, Samsung Odyssey VR, MSFFB2, T-50 Throttle, Thrustmaster Rudder Pedals
