diamond26
Hi All, after long time absence from the world of Sims (last time back in 2000 with Falcon4!) I found out DCS and despite my preference to jets (due to my former occupation) I would like to take the opportunity of the free month trial and try the Spit. I downloaded both the Spit and Normandy map but I'm getting an error of missing elements whenever I tried to fly an instant action mission in Normandy. It happens in both Stable and OB versions. If I install the WWII assets pack everything work fine. Is that a normal behavior or something wrong with my installation? If it is a normal situation that means that in order to enjoy flying the Spit over Normandy do I have to buy 3 modules (plane, map and assets pack)? Thanks Diamond MAIN SYSTEM SPECS: MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4, Intel Corei7-12700K @ 5.0, 64Gb RAM Kingston KF3600C18D4/16GX, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING 12GB, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, VKB Gladiator NXT Evo, VKB T-Rudder MKIV, Quest 2, Quest Pro BACKUP SYSTEM SPECS: Lenovo Legion Y540-15IRH, i7 9750, RTX2060mobile 6GB, 32GB RAM Crucial DDR4-2666, 1TB Intel SSD NVMe SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows

philstyle
If it is a normal situation that means that in order to enjoy flying the Spit over Normandy do I have to buy 3 modules (plane, map and assets pack)? Diamond No, you can fly the spitfire over the Normandy map without owning the assets. However, if the mission you are using was created with any of the WW2 assets, then you will also need to buy the assets yourself. saburo_cz
It is because this particular mission requires WWII Assets pack.. You have two ways how to solve it. to buy WWII Assets pack or open mission in Mission Editor and delete all units from Assets pack and save it. F-15E | F-14A/B P-51D | P-47D | Mosquito FB Mk VI |Spitfire | Fw 190D | Fw 190A | Bf 109K | WWII Assets Pack Normandy 2 | The Channel | Sinai | Syria | PG | NTTR | South Atlantic F/A-18 | F-86 | F-16C | A-10C | FC-3 | CA | SC |
philstyle
Thanks for your response, but this is what I see when I try to start an instant action in Normandy: I suspect the free fly mission must have the assets in it. oops, ED! Odd.. try opening the Normandy map int he mission editor, clean no mods. Add a flyable spitfire. save the mission run the mission If you're not sure how to do that, let me know and I will build you a test mission to try. diamond26
I will. diamond26
Yes, if I go through Mission builder I can fly the Spit without issue over Normandy! So my guess is that the embedded missions in Normandy require WWII Assets Pack :( MAIN SYSTEM SPECS: MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4, Intel Corei7-12700K @ 5.0, 64Gb RAM Kingston KF3600C18D4/16GX, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING 12GB, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, VKB Gladiator NXT Evo, VKB T-Rudder MKIV, Quest 2, Quest Pro BACKUP SYSTEM SPECS: Lenovo Legion Y540-15IRH, i7 9750, RTX2060mobile 6GB, 32GB RAM Crucial DDR4-2666, 1TB Intel SSD NVMe SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows
