IronMike
"This is Bullseye, man!" Dear all, we are happy to announce the introduction of Navgrid to the TID, which includes also appropriate Jester menus, so that you can use it in Singleplayer and Multiplayer alike. Navgrid will release with the next F-14 update, and if you would like to read up or learn up in the meantime, you can do so either in the updated manual section, or from the video Jabbers was kind enough to make. Updated CAP Matrix section: http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/general.html#id12 Added NAV GRID section: http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/ge...-grid-nav-grid All other changes will be published in the changelog. Home Fries
Definitely looking forward to NAVGRID! Sure beats dialing up DP/Man and reading bulls off the HSI repeater. On the plus side, though, this technique helped brush off the TACAN point-to-point procedures I learned back in the day to figure out intercepts of aircraft called with bulls. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

lucky-hendrix
So, all praise indeed. But did anyone try to use it actually? From a cold start, I can't get the navgrid to center on a desired location.? Manual says that it should center on one of the waypoint in the order :,HA, ...... HA is defined bo are wp1,wp2 ... HB and others. Yet my navgrid still shows in a lat/long of 0N 0E. Am I doing something wrong ? How do you change navgrid location from cold start or during flight? IronMike
If not performed otherwise through Jester or RIO inputs, the initial YY of NAVGRID will always be on the bullseye in the mission editor. Am I doing something wrong ? How do you change navgrid location from cold start or during flight? I experienced the same issue using the process I outlined in my post on the issue. You're not alone. I just enter the NAVGRID from scratch by entering in the desired LAT/LONG for it on the CAP. Seemed to work just fine Do you have a repeatable process for making this work. I select a dummy waypoint before entering NAVGRID so that I don't overwrite my present position, but even then this technique doesn't appear to be foolproof. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Salty
So what I do to make my nav grid work is ill get the coordinates I want to place say N27 39 3 and E54 19 1 so ill go to the DL tab on the CAP and ill select NavGrid once i have it clicked i will press N/E Lat 27 39 3 *enter* Clear N/E Long E 54 19 1 *enter* and clear it should be set up on those coordinates from there you can edit the Axis, Sectors etc Edited November 30, 2019 by Salty That was some of the best flying I've seen to date...right up to the part where you got killed

I wonder if my going between the F10 view and F1 while entering the L/L (to get bullseye) is the issue. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Home Fries
Ok, I've determined that deselecting a waypoint before selecting NAVGRID allowed me to enter the coordinates. My workaround to protect the present position was actually screwing things up. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

My workaround to protect the present position was actually screwing things up. This is indeed correct, no waypont must be hooked before entering coordinates.
