Razor18
Does the screenshot look correct behaviour, i.e. the Target Designator and the Seeker Head locked onto different targets? Sidewinder on its own locks onto an IR target (heat source), radar on its own locks onto a radar contact. If you have more than one target in the FOV of those sensors, they might easily lock onto different targets, unless you slave IR head to the radar TGT. imacken
Sidewinder on its own locks onto an IR target (heat source), radar on its own locks onto a radar contact. If you have more than one target in the FOV of those sensors, they might easily lock onto different targets, unless you slave IR head to the radar TGT. I see that, but it makes no logical sense for that to be correct behaviour. Apart from anything else, it stops the SHOOT cue from working. I’m going to post in bugs and see what BN and the team think. falcon_120
That is correct behavior imho, as long as the 2 targets were really close at the moment of lock, or ome of the targets goes through the LoS of the aim9 seeker. Top Jockey
I believe the AIM-9 functions in the F/A-18C aren't exactly the same as in the F-16C. Which is, if I recal correctly, in the Hornet there aren't clearly separated BORE / SLAV vs CAGE / UNCAGE functions; but more like a 'mix' between them... imacken
I've posted in the Bugs section here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=283227 I find difficulty in believing that can be correct behaviour. For one thing the SHOOT cue doesn't work. The seeker changes target whenever a second aircraft moves into the ACM zone, giving you a split targeting situation. No way can that be right, IMO. This did not happen in previous builds. Let's see what BN and the team say. The seeker changes target whenever a second aircraft moves into the ACM zone, giving you a split targeting situation. No way can that be right, IMO. Maybe look at it from another perspective: You have a more distant bandit radar locked, but another bandit suddenly pops up very close in front of you and you want to launch a Sidewinder on it. The way it seems to behave atm you can just point the sidewinder seeker at it and shoot as the sidwinder seeker can act independently from the radar, so you don't have to fiddle around with the radar which is still locked at the other bandit. That's an advantage if you ask me. :dunno: Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing! Also, it doesn't have to be a nearer bandit, the split target happens whenever another bandit regardless of distance pops into the ACM view.
