Carrier launch speed

What is the max speed the carrier can go, assuming no wind, and launch the F-18?

Seems like when I build a mission and the carrier is going 30 knots (max speed) the F-18 can't get enough lift and crashes into the ocean. If it is set to a slower speed, lets say 11 knots, there is no issue.

The weight on the F-18 is about 47k so i'm using 17 degree trim w/full AB.

From what I have seen it's 25 to 30 kts of wind over the deck for landing (powered or wind and powered to make 30. 20 + 10 etc), not sure about speed when launching, it would not be more than 30 tho for landing aircraft at the same time. Are you setting half flaps?

shouldnt overspeeding carrier have its front tilted up like any speeding boat, thus AoA will be much higher and compounded as opposed to a parked carrier?

Hi

Last week we did a multiplayer LAN session with the carrier group set to 56Km/Hr (30.24 Knots)

Several bad things happened.

F18 player aircraft could not easily turn right onto the Cat without massive power input. Aircraft were being pushed sideways down the deck.

Other escort ships, tankers and cargo ships could not keep up with the carriers.

Stennis could not keep up with Kuznetsov, even though set to the same speed

Player in a Harrier rearming on the deck of the Tarawa unit paying attention jwas pushed Into the water by the wind over the deck.

So 30Knotts may be too much? I’m not sure.

I thought ED had fixed aircraft skittering on the deck when parked?

It's all a bit (WIP) Early access at the moment, many are keeping the speed of the carrier to 20 kts for the moment until the /sea/carrier/deck/tyre moving physics are better.

Honestabe is not having this problem? I'm wondering if he is doing a cold start on deck and not setting the flaps to half? Or not connecting to the catapult with U key. Not tried this, but has anyone forgot to lower there wings.:D
