kelpie
It's been a while since I last flew the F-5E3 and I came across a problem that I never had before. When trying to taxi I'll F-5 will move normally then suddenly it'll just stop turning and will just move straight regardless that the nose wheel steering button is held down and the rudder button is still held down. I reviewed the track I saved after the 4th failed taxiing attempt and the nose wheel is turned but the F-5 will not follow it. Since I've never had the problem before I can only assume it's a bug. I haven't seen anyone else mention this problem yet.F5E3TaxiProblem.trk Modules: Owned: P-51D, F/A-18C, AJS-37, NTTR, F-5E, M-2000C, Bf 109, Fw 190 D-9, F-86F, Mig-15Bis, A-10C, Combined Arms, Mi-8Mtv2, UH-1H, Black Shark 2, Mig-21Bis, FC3, F-14A/B, Mig-19, Spitfire, JF-17, Persian Gulf Would Like to See: Mig-29K, Su-24, Mig-25, J-8II, J-10 , Tornado __________________ Specifications: Windows 10 64Bit, i7-7700K 4.2Ghz, GTX 1080, 16Gb RAM, T.flight Stick X
ED Team cofcorpse Posted April 1, 2017 ED Team Share Posted April 1, 2017 I didn't look at your track yet, but I will assume that nose wheel is turned to much for that speed. And wheel begin to slide. Either slow down or lower nose wheel angle
kelpie
I didn't look at your track yet, but I will assume that nose wheel is turned to much for that speed. And wheel begin to slide. Either slow down or lower nose wheel angle I've tried at different speeds and the same thing keeps happening. I'll go slow and then it'll just slip and go straight. I'll go faster and the same thing will happen just not as soon. It's very strange considering that I used to fly this plane all the time and never had any issue like this at all. I'll try a few more times at different speeds to see. The nose wheel is in it's resting position. I don't lift it up or engage the strut until I'm on the runway and at a dead stop so that shouldn't be an issue. It's a very odd situation. kelpie
I think I figured it out. If the rudder is turned just half way or less it works perfectly. However, if the rudder is turned to the extreme (which is what I was doing in the track because I was leaving a hanger) then it'll slip and go straight. Its curious that I never had that issue before now. At least I know that it's not a bug and it was how I was controlling the plane.
